1.5KE Series TVS Diodes and Selectable Grades
Compare axial 1.5KE-series transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) diode listings for surge-protection design. The selectable grades in this collection include A (typically unidirectional) and CA (typically bidirectional) suffixes, with option numbers from 6.8 to 540 across different listings. A number printed in a model designation is not automatically its reverse standoff or clamping voltage. Select the complete part number, direction and pack size, then check the exact manufacturer's datasheet before choosing a circuit component.
What you can select
- Axial 1.5KE A grades: listings offer selected 10-, 20- or 50-piece packs across different ranges, including low-number choices such as 1.5KE6.8A and 1.5KE12A, midrange 1.5KE33A and 1.5KE75A, and higher-number 1.5KE200A through 1.5KE540A where listed. The available grades and quantities differ by product.
- Axial 1.5KE CA grades: separate menus offer bidirectional-suffix choices, from low-number 1.5KE6.8CA or 1.5KE18CA through higher-number 1.5KE400CA, 1.5KE440CA and up to 1.5KE540CA where offered. Other menus combine A and CA variants under one product title; the selected suffix determines the ordered type.
- Fixed and mixed selections: fixed listings include a 1.5KE18CA 20-piece pack and a 1.5KE33A listing whose quantity needs confirmation on its product page. Some titles say “kit” or “28 values” but their options select one grade and one pack, commonly 10 or 20 pieces, not every value together. A few options use shorthand such as “18CA-20PCS” or unconventional formatting such as “7CA5”; check the full selected model and quantity before purchase. One menu even has a “Jade green” option with no electrical model established by that label.
- Other devices in shared menus: two products list 1.5KE24A or 1.5KE15CA alongside ICs, transistors and MOSFETs including BTS7960B, MAX485CPA, BC307B and P6NK90ZFP. Choosing one of those other options does not order a TVS diode. These listings offer 5/20-piece or 6/30-piece selections depending on the product and model.
Selection checklist
- Start with the highest normal line voltage, including reverse swings. Compare the selected grade's reverse standoff voltage (VRWM), breakdown range (VBR), clamping voltage (VC) at its specified pulse current, and the protected device's limits.
- Check the complete A or CA suffix and the manufacturer's polarity marking. A and CA are different parts even when the grade number matches; do not infer direction from a shared product title.
- Validate pulse waveform, peak pulse current, power, temperature derating and repetition from the exact datasheet. “1500 W” in a seller headline does not guarantee the same performance for every waveform, grade or ambient condition.
- Confirm the leaded outline and board space. Listings variously call the package DO-201AD, DO-27 or DO-21; verify the mechanical drawing and dimensions for the selected device rather than assuming these labels are interchangeable.
- Check the option and purchase quantity. The “Color” selector often represents a model or pack, not the component's color, and text in a description may name additional grades that are not selectable.
Frequently asked questions
Does “28 values” mean a 28-type assortment?
No. The observed options select one 20-piece model per order. Check the selected variant rather than assuming all models in the title arrive together.
Are 1.5KE18A and 1.5KE18CA interchangeable?
Do not assume so. Their polarity suffixes differ; compare the exact manufacturer's electrical and mechanical specifications against the line's normal behavior.
Is the number in 1.5KE200CA its clamping voltage?
No. Use its datasheet values for working standoff, breakdown and clamping voltage at the relevant test current.
Will a 1.5KE option in a mixed IC listing send every device in the title?
No. The selected option identifies one component and a stated pack size. Confirm the chosen model before checkout.
