3.5mm and 3.81mm PCB Terminal Blocks

3.5mm and 3.81mm PCB Terminal Blocks

This collection covers 3.5mm and 3.81mm pitch terminal blocks for compact PCB and panel wiring. Its 27 listings span fixed through-hole screw blocks, pluggable screw-terminal systems, spring-clamp plugs, straight and right-angle PCB headers, cable-to-cable docking sets, and through-wall or flange-mounted assemblies. Many listings include other pitches, so the selected variant defines what belongs to this range.

Connector Formats Available

  • KF128-style fixed through-hole screw terminal blocks in 2P and 3P modular formats
  • 3.81mm low-, medium- and mixed-profile fixed blocks
  • 15EDG, 2EDG and related pluggable screw-terminal plugs and PCB headers
  • Straight and right-angle male PCB headers, female wire plugs, complete mating sets and plug-only options
  • Spring-clamp or screw-free 3.81mm plugs and complete header sets
  • Cable-to-cable docking connectors, through-wall sets and flange-fixed panel formats
  • Position counts extending from 2P to 24P in selected pluggable families

3.5mm vs. 3.81mm Pitch

These pitches are close but not interchangeable. Measure center-to-center terminal spacing and verify the complete PCB footprint. A 3.5mm plug must be paired with its matching 3.5mm header; the same rule applies to 3.81mm. Pitch alone does not establish mating compatibility between different product families.

How to Select

  1. Choose 3.5mm or 3.81mm pitch from the exact variant.
  2. Select fixed PCB block, removable plug and header, cable-docking pair, or panel/through-wall assembly.
  3. Choose screw clamp or spring clamp according to the selected series.
  4. Confirm position count, noting that a complete set may include both plug and header.
  5. For PCB headers, select straight or right-angle orientation.
  6. Check body profile, flange or lock features, keying, wire-entry direction and enclosure clearance.
  7. Verify the exact mating half, wire range, strip length and electrical ratings before production.

Fixed Blocks vs. Pluggable Systems

A fixed KF128-style block is soldered to the PCB and accepts wire directly. A pluggable system separates into a wire-side plug and a PCB- or panel-side mating part. Some listings sell only one half, while others sell pairs or complete sets. “Female,” “male,” “plug,” “wafer,” “socket” and “pin header” are not used consistently across source titles, so confirm the product images, dimensions and selected option.

Mixed-Pitch Listings

Several products also contain 2.54mm, 3.96mm, 5.0mm, 5.08mm, 7.5mm or 7.62mm variants. Those options are not 3.5mm or 3.81mm products. Two dedicated 5.08mm docking listings are also outside the core scope and must not define this collection’s dimensions or ratings.

Compatibility and Brand Boundaries

Terms such as 15EDG, 2EDG, KF2EDG, KF128, 39500 and Phoenix are useful for identifying a general search format, but they do not prove original manufacture or cross-brand interchangeability. Verify pitch, polarization, side keys, latch or flange geometry, contact orientation and mating depth. A matching position count is not enough.

Electrical and Material Limits

The listings contain different claims, including 300V/10A, 300V/8A, 250V/7A, 150V/10A and wire ranges from 28–16AWG to 24–12AWG. Materials, temperature limits and CE/RoHS claims also vary. No single rating, wire range, material or certification applies to all 27 listings. Use the exact selected component’s verified documentation and design the PCB, enclosure, creepage and clearance for the intended circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a 3.5mm plug mate with a 3.81mm header?
No. The pitches and mechanical interfaces differ.

Does every listing include both mating halves?
No. Listings may offer plug only, straight header only, right-angle header only, pairs or complete sets.

Are all products screw-clamp types?
No. The range also includes spring-clamp or screw-free variants.

Are all parts rated 300V and 10A?
No. Published values vary by product and configuration.

Can any 15EDG or 2EDG parts be mixed?
Not safely by name alone. Match the full series geometry and manufacturer drawing.

Are these automatically suitable for mains wiring?
No. Suitability depends on verified approvals, ratings, wire preparation, PCB spacing, enclosure and applicable safety standards.

Ordering Checklist

Confirm pitch, series, fixed or pluggable format, clamp type, positions, plug/header selection, orientation, profile, locks or flanges, PCB footprint, mating geometry, conductor range, package quantity and required approvals.
