Tantalum Capacitors by Case, Voltage & Value
Compare tantalum capacitor formats and part numbers
This collection groups SMD and through-hole tantalum capacitor listings, a mixed-case assortment, a polymer tantalum option, and one ceramic capacitor listing. Some seller titles mention AVX or part numbers such as TAJC227K010RNJ and TAAA224K063; a name in a listing is a search reference, not proof of manufacturer identity, authorized sourcing or authenticity. Check exact component markings and provenance before purchasing for a controlled bill of materials.
What products are here?
- SMD solid tantalum: A/3216, B/3528, C/6032, D/7343 and E-case selections span different µF and voltage combinations. The selected option, not the whole listing title, specifies the value and case.
- Leaded and axial: DIP/through-hole choices use individual capacitance and voltage options. The TAAA224K063 axial listing describes 0.22 µF and 63 V, but its source text also calls it aluminum electrolytic; verify the manufacturer's datasheet before identifying its chemistry.
- Polymer tantalum: a 2R5TPE330M9 listing offers 330 µF, 2.5 V and several pack quantities. Do not apply its polymer behavior, temperature claim or voltage to other listings.
- Assortments and non-tantalum: the A–E case kit offers different value counts and quantities by case. One 1206 listing is explicitly a ceramic MLCC with pF/nF/µF options, not a tantalum capacitor.
How to select a suitable part
- Identify the exact required capacitance and voltage, then apply the device designer's voltage and surge derating guidance.
- Confirm the dielectric and construction: solid tantalum, polymer tantalum, axial/through-hole or ceramic. Do not substitute across these technologies by capacitance and voltage alone.
- Compare case drawing, dimensions, height, mounting pattern and polarity marking with the board.
- For an exact replacement, match the complete manufacturer part number, tolerance, ESR, leakage, ripple-current and temperature requirements where specified.
- Verify the option's capacitance code and pack size. A code such as 227 indicates nominal 220 µF, not the voltage rating or manufacturer.
- For regulated sourcing, request traceability and inspect markings; generic “original” wording does not establish provenance.
Important compatibility boundaries
The same A, B, C, D or E case letter does not guarantee matching land pattern, height, ESR or reliability series. Some option labels disagree with their adjacent capacitance codes; for example, a listing pairs “10 µF” with code “107”, commonly 100 µF. Confirm the actual part and datasheet rather than resolving such conflicts by guesswork. A yellow or black package alone cannot prove dielectric or brand. Tantalum parts are polarized and incorrect installation may cause failure.
Ordering checklist
- Full manufacturer part number and verified source
- Actual capacitance, tolerance and rated voltage
- Case dimensions, mounting style and polarity
- ESR, leakage, ripple and temperature if required
- Selected variant and pieces per order
Frequently asked questions
Are all items in this collection AVX parts?
No verified collection-wide AVX provenance is available. Individual seller titles mention AVX, while other listings have different or unspecified brands and one product is ceramic.
Can the polymer 2R5TPE330M9 replace a conventional tantalum capacitor?
Not on capacitance alone. Check voltage, construction, ESR, ripple, leakage, footprint and the circuit's requirements.
Does 6032C or 7343D prove drop-in compatibility?
No. Use the exact manufacturer's dimensions, polarity and electrical specification.
What if a value label conflicts with its capacitance code?
Do not order based on either alone; confirm the actual component marking and manufacturer datasheet.
