Refrigerator Compressor Capacitors & Starter Parts

Refrigerator compressor capacitors and starter parts

Browse capacitor and start-circuit parts listed for refrigerators and freezers. This mixed collection includes individual compressor start capacitors, smaller CBB60/CBB65/CBB61-style motor capacitors, PTC start relays, overload protectors, relay-and-capacitor assemblies, and interference filters. These components perform different jobs. A compressor's approved service specification and the markings on the removed part take priority over a generic refrigerator keyword.

What is in this collection?

  • Compressor start capacitors: Listings include CD60-style high-µF options and parts advertised as 80 µF/220 V, 64 µF/330 V and 88–108 µF/330 V. A capacitance range on a start unit is not the same as a precisely marked run-capacitor value. Check the exact selected variant's AC voltage and intermittent-duty requirement. Do not substitute a start capacitor into a continuous-run circuit.
  • Motor-run and auxiliary capacitors: Some listings specify CBB60 or CBB65 styles in lower single-digit to tens-of-µF variants, with different wires, hooks, studs or spade terminals. Despite “starting” in a sales title, that word alone does not determine the capacitor's electrical duty. Verify the original marking, operating role, case size, tolerance and mounting. A 4-pin insert is not automatically four independent electrical sections.
  • Starter assemblies and protection: QP3-12A, 8100ZEM, 6SP9015, TY-QZ, QL2 and W10613606-style listings may describe a PTC relay, overload protector, capacitor, or a packaged combination. A relay or protector is not a standalone capacitor. Match the complete service assembly, terminal orientation, start circuit and compressor requirements rather than just the number of microfarads or a supplier's list of appliance brands.
  • Other items retained in the catalog: The collection also contains power-line EMI filters, a refrigerator thermostat, general high-voltage film capacitor assortments and large DC electrolytic capacitors. None should be treated as an interchangeable compressor starter. A 1,000–2,000 V DC film part is not thereby an approved AC motor or mains safety capacitor.

How to choose a replacement

  1. Identify the failed component's circuit role: intermittent start capacitor, continuously operating run capacitor, PTC relay, overload protector, combined starter kit, EMI filter or thermostat. Read the refrigerator service sheet and compressor identification.
  2. Compare exact component or service part number and the selected option. For capacitors, check capacitance in µF, specified AC voltage, frequency, tolerance, start/run duty, temperature and applicable approval evidence. A 97 µF or 80 µF marketing label alone does not establish interchangeability.
  3. Compare number and electrical grouping of terminals, connector keying, wires, mounting stud or hook, dimensions, thermal-protector behavior and whether the listing is a single part, set or multi-pack. A nominal device model or brand mention does not prove genuine origin or compatibility.
  4. For mains-powered refrigeration equipment, use manufacturer service instructions and a qualified repairer. Do not bypass an overload protector or EMI filter; this page is not a generic wiring guide.

Buying checklist and FAQ

Have the appliance and compressor model, failed part marking, service part number, start/run role, every µF and VAC marking, terminal layout, case dimensions, mounting method and required safety approvals ready before ordering.

Does a PTC starter include a capacitor? Not necessarily. Inspect the selected listing and included-parts details; several options are only a relay or overload device.

Is a start capacitor suitable for continuous operation? No. Use the duty specified for the original circuit, not the refrigerator keyword in the title.

Will a matching part number guarantee appliance fit? No. Confirm exact revision, connector, circuit arrangement and service documentation for the equipment.
