E14 E17 Lamp Socket Adapters & Ceramic Holder
E14 and E17 Lamp Socket Adapters and Ceramic Holder
This collection is primarily a range of E14 and E17 lamp-base converters, extenders and mixed adapter options. It includes conversions between small Edison screw bases and E12, E26/E27, B22, BA15, G9, GU10, MR16, GU5.3 and G4 formats. One inspected product is a standalone E17 porcelain lamp holder with bracket and pre-attached wires.
This is not a complete family of pendant, batten, panel-mount and keyless E14/E17 holders. Select by the exact input socket, output lamp base and conversion direction.
Products Found in This Collection

- Extensions: E14-to-E14 and E17-to-E17 socket extenders
- Standalone holder: one E17 porcelain socket with mounting bracket, silicone-insulated wire leads and a product-specific listing
- Mixed listings: some products contain numerous unrelated adapters; only the selected variant defines what is supplied
E14 vs. E17
E14 and E17 are different Edison screw sizes. E14 is nominally 14mm and E17 nominally 17mm, but diameter alone does not define voltage, current, regional standard or lamp suitability. They are not directly interchangeable without an appropriate adapter.
Read the Conversion Direction
“E14 to E27” normally means the adapter installs in an E14 socket and accepts an E27 lamp. “E27 to E14” is the reverse. The same direction rule applies to E17, B22, BA15, G9 and GU10 products. Check both ends in the selected variant title and image before ordering.
How to Select
- Identify the exact existing socket code.
- Identify the lamp base to be installed.
- Confirm the input-to-output direction.
- Choose an adapter, extender or standalone wired holder.
- Verify supply voltage, frequency and lamp input requirements.
- Check the exact product’s electrical, thermal and mechanical ratings.
- Confirm overall length, lamp clearance, ventilation and supported weight.
- Review package quantity and product-specific compliance documents.
Adapters Do Not Convert Voltage
A passive socket adapter normally changes only the physical and contact interface. It does not convert 120V to 230V, AC to DC, frequency, dimming method, ballast output or lamp wattage. A lamp that fits mechanically can still be electrically incompatible.
Edison, Bayonet and Bi-Pin Boundaries
B22, BA15D and BA15S are bayonet formats; G9, GU10, MR16/GU5.3 and G4 use pin or twist-lock interfaces. These are not variants of E14 or E17. An adapter can bridge the mechanical connection, but it does not prove that the lamp and fixture share suitable voltage, control gear, heat limits or contact arrangement.
The E17 Ceramic Holder
The standalone E17 holder is distinct from the converters. Its listing describes a porcelain body, metal bracket and approximately 10cm wire leads. Use only its product-specific dimensions and ratings. Do not transfer those material, wire or temperature claims to the rest of the collection.
Materials, Ratings and Certifications
Product listings contain mixed references to porcelain, ceramic, PBT, plastic, copper contacts, silicone wire, “fireproof,” CE, RoHS and UL. No single material, voltage, current, wattage, temperature or certification applies across all 37 products.
The catalog does not support the old collection-wide claims of 250V AC, 2A/500W, +130°C thermoplastic, +350°C ceramic, copper-alloy contacts, universal CE/RoHS compliance or complete pendant, batten, panel-mount and keyless holder coverage.
Typical Uses
Correctly selected products can support lamp-base conversion, decorative-lighting changes, chandelier repair evaluation, socket extension and compatible LED retrofit testing. These examples do not establish approval for appliances, enclosed fixtures, halogen loads, mains rewiring, outdoor locations or unattended use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are E14 and E17 interchangeable?
No. They have different nominal thread diameters and require the correct socket or adapter.
Does every product include a complete lamp holder?
No. Nearly all products are adapters or extenders; only one inspected listing is a standalone E17 wired ceramic holder.
Is E14-to-GU10 the same as GU10-to-E14?
No. They convert in opposite directions.
Will an adapter convert voltage?
No. Passive lamp-base adapters normally provide no electrical conversion.
Can every adapter be used with halogen lamps?
No. Confirm the exact product’s temperature, material and load rating.
Are all products CE, RoHS or UL approved?
No collection-wide approval was verified. Review documentation for the exact item.
