LM324 Quad Op Amp ICs and Analog Assortments
LM324 quad operational amplifiers: select the exact IC, package and quantity
This collection centers on LM324-family four-channel operational-amplifier ICs in DIP-14, SOP/SOIC-14 and TSSOP-14 formats. It also includes analog IC assortments, soldering practice kits and multi-model listings in which the selected variant may be a comparator, timer, sensor, MOSFET or another component entirely. The product title may list several searchable part numbers; the item ordered is determined by its selected model, package and pack-size options. Use this page as a component-selection guide, not as a claim that every listing contains LM324.
What makes an LM324 a quad op amp?
A bare LM324 integrates four operational-amplifier channels sharing supply pins in a 14-pin device. The channels are independent building blocks for properly designed analog stages; a 10-piece pack means ten physical IC packages, not forty individual packages. Common design roles include conditioning low-frequency sensor signals, active filters, threshold-related analog stages and general-purpose feedback circuits, subject to the chosen part's limits. “Four-channel” does not make it a four-channel finished audio power amplifier, and a bare chip cannot directly replace an assembled sensor interface or complete module. A simple LM324 signal-generator soldering kit is a board and parts for assembly or practice, with its own circuit and power needs, not a loose IC pack.
Match the actual orderable number and grade
Listings offer LM324N through-hole parts; LM324D, LM324DR, LM324DT and LM324DR2G surface-mount options; LM324PWR or LM324DTBR2G fine-pitch TSSOP variants; and LM324A/LM324AD/LM324ADR/LM324AM choices. Other model menus include LM124 and LM224 grades or LM2902-family alternatives. These names are not a guarantee of identical offset, drift, bias, noise, input range, output swing, operating temperature or sourcing pedigree. Manufacturer suffixes can also encode packaging and temperature distinctions. For replacement or production, cross-check the full marking, manufacturer's current datasheet, operating limits and original circuit rather than matching only the digits “324.” One mixed listing prints “LM334N” while other options name LM324; confirm the actual selected marking rather than silently treating that label as a known LM324 variant.
Footprint and assembly matter
DIP-14 is a through-hole package with a different footprint from SOP/SOIC-14 surface-mount parts. TSSOP-14 uses a finer pitch and different land pattern again; a DIP socket does not directly accept an SOP or TSSOP IC. Check the actual board footprint, pitch, orientation notch or pin-1 indicator, lead dimensions and rework method. A variant labeled “LM324PWP TSSOP14” is physically different from “LM324 SOP14,” even where the functional part family is related. Some listings mix 10, 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200-piece variants; a quantity choice multiplies packages of the selected model, not the number of amplifier channels per package. Check whether parts arrive loose, in a box or in tape before planning pick-and-place assembly.
Electrical selection beyond a part-number match
Verify the selected manufacturer's supply-voltage range, absolute maximum ratings, input common-mode limits, input offset and temperature drift, input bias current, output voltage swing under your actual load, output current, common-mode rejection, open-loop gain, gain-bandwidth, slew rate, noise, thermal characteristics and stability. A part marketed for single-supply operation is not automatically a rail-to-rail amplifier: input headroom and output headroom can differ substantially near the positive rail. A 14-pin quad op amp also cannot be substituted into a dual LM358 DIP-8 footprint or an LM339 comparator circuit just because the case has fourteen pins. For high-impedance sensors, model bias-current error and leakage; for higher-frequency signals, calculate closed-loop bandwidth and settling. Check component specifications at the real supply, temperature, gain and load, then validate the assembled circuit. Do not copy a generic seller voltage, power or temperature field across all variants: several product descriptions contain placeholder values or fields that do not identify the IC's electrical rating.
LM324 versus LM339 and other mixed-model choices
LM339/LM2901 are four-channel comparators, not four linear-feedback op amps. Their output structures and intended operation differ from LM324/LM2902. LM358/LM258/LM2904 are dual op amps generally found in eight-pin packages; LM393/LM293/LM2903 and LM311 are comparator options. NE555 is a timer; LM386, LM380 and TDA2030/TDA2822 are audio amplifier devices of different kinds; ULN2003/ULN2803 are driver arrays; PC817 is an optocoupler; MC34063, TL494 and UC3842 are power-control devices. Listings combining LM348, LM359, LM319, LM224, LM2907 and other model numbers require device-specific datasheets, not automatic LM324 substitution. One option under a multi-model title offers ULN2003AN only. Select the variant, not the first part number appearing in the title.
Assortment contents are not uniform
Mixed 45-, 60-, 75-, 85-, 90-, 100- and 150-piece sets can contain several types in unequal counts. An “85PCS 10 Types” listing, for example, may apportion only a fraction of the total to LM324 while including NE555, LM393, UA741, LM358, NE5532, PC817 and driver arrays. Some sets include sockets, clips or adapters; others do not. Read the product-specific contents list and confirm the count of LM324 packages before choosing a kit for repair stock or a production bill of materials. A “25/50PCS” multi-model box often represents one selected model and its designated quantity, not a box containing 25 or 50 of every named chip. Sellers may use a generic “amplifier circuit” heading even when a chosen option is a comparator, timer or regulator. Where a kit description conflicts with its variant or quantity, clarify the actual contents rather than assuming either is correct.
Search-name collisions in this collection
Some multi-model product menus list LM324N alongside items with entirely different functions and footprints, such as AO4606/AO4614B MOSFETs, LM35DZ temperature sensors, regulators, motor drivers, microcontrollers, DC-DC modules and sensor ICs. Those alternatives remain listed here because of the shared product page, not because they contain an LM324 or meet its electrical specification. A “710” or HCPL-0710 selection, FDS9945 choice, A3938, ICM-20609, MP9720, FD6288, TLC7226, MIC5014, B0505LS-1W, MB9BF522 or R5F212 choice should be evaluated as its own part. An LM3485MM switching-controller listing is a switching controller, not an LM324 quad op amp. Match the exact variant and form factor; do not treat this collection's membership as a cross-reference or compatibility approval.
A practical purchase checklist
- Identify the function required by your schematic: four linear op-amp channels, a comparator, dual amplifier, power-control IC, mixed assortment or soldering kit.
- Choose LM324N, LM324DR, LM324PWR, LM324A or another exact option deliberately; check the full suffix, supplier datasheet and temperature grade.
- Confirm DIP-14 versus SOP/SOIC-14 versus TSSOP-14, pin 1, pitch and footprint, including any required adapter that is not explicitly included.
- Check power rails, input range and output headroom at your load; budget offset, bias error, drift, bandwidth and slew rate for the real signal.
- Separate piece count from channels per IC and from total pieces across a mixed kit. Verify the contents table rather than a string of models in the headline.
- For critical repairs and repeated production, request traceable lot and manufacturer evidence; “original” and certification phrases in a seller title are not independently verified by the collection.
Frequently asked questions
Does every product here ship an LM324? No. Many listings offer separate model variants, and some mixed assortments contain many other components. Read the selected option and contents list.
Can LM339 replace LM324 because both have four channels and fourteen pins? No. LM339 is a comparator with different output behavior and application requirements.
Will an LM324N fit an LM324DR footprint? No. LM324N listings here use DIP-14 while LM324DR is a surface-mount 14-pin option; verify exact package dimensions.
Are LM324A, LM224 and LM2902 automatically equivalent? No. Check the exact manufacturer orderable part, electrical limits, grade, footprint and application before substitution.
Does “85PCS” mean 85 LM324 chips? Not for an assortment labeled as multiple types. Confirm the quantity of each included value in the chosen kit.
Is a soldering-practice signal-generator board a ready-to-use LM324 component? No. It is a circuit kit; check included parts, assembly status and required supply.
Do “new original” or generic certification fields prove provenance? No. Request appropriate supply-chain and lot documentation for applications where authenticity matters.
Yoeruyo keeps these LM324-related listings together without altering their product membership. Verify the selected variant against the actual circuit, not the collection label alone.
