This collection contains replacement host cables for selected Symbol, Motorola-branded Symbol and Zebra barcode scanners. The current range consists of USB straight and coiled cables, RS232 serial cables, and one powered RS232 cable kit. It does not currently include scanner batteries, charging cradles, PS/2 cables, IBM 46xx cables or mobile-computer accessories.

How to choose the correct scanner cable

1. Read the full scanner model: use the exact model and suffix from the scanner label, not the brand name alone.
2. Identify the host interface: choose USB or RS232 according to the computer, POS terminal, cradle or controller. The two interfaces are not interchangeable without the correct scanner configuration.
3. Match the cable reference: compare the reference printed on the old cable or specified in the scanner documentation with references stated on the product page, such as CBA-U01-S07ZAR, CBA-U12-C09ZAR, CBA-R01-S09PAR or CBA-R01-S15.
4. Verify the scanner-side connector: similar modular-looking plugs can use different contact counts, latches or pin assignments. Visual similarity does not establish compatibility.
5. Select form and length: choose straight or coiled construction and the required 2m, 3m or 5m option.
6. Check power requirements: RS232 installations may require external scanner power. Confirm the adapter output, polarity, plug region and device requirements.

This is not a universal compatibility statement: supported models differ by product, and some model variants have explicit exclusions.

For example, one USB listing states that it is not for LS1902 and restricts compatibility within older LS4000, M2007 and LS6000 families to specific versions. Check the exact product page rather than assuming that every cable in this collection supports every named scanner family.

Symbol, Motorola and Zebra names and cable references identify the intended equipment or comparison point; they do not by themselves indicate that a cable is an original manufacturer part. Setup considerations

Changing from RS232 or keyboard-wedge operation to USB may require the scanner to be configured for the new host interface. A connector that physically fits may still fail if the cable pinout, scanner firmware settings, host mode or power arrangement is wrong. Use the scanner manual and the individual cable instructions.
