OPA2134 Audio Op Amp ICs, Adapters and Preamp PCBs

OPA2134 dual audio op amps and compatible-format project parts

Compare OPA2134PA DIP-8 and OPA2134UA SOP-8 dual-channel operational amplifier IC offers, an SOP-to-DIP adapter choice, dual-op-amp preamplifier circuit boards, and multi-model or alternative audio IC selections. This collection is not a single interchangeable lot: some listings sell five to one hundred bare chips, one lists a chip on an adapter, two sell an empty preamp board, and multi-model pages let you select a different op amp entirely. Choose the selected part number, package, quantity and assembly state before interpreting any “audio upgrade” claim.

What the OPA2134 is, and what it is not

OPA2134 denotes a two-channel audio-oriented operational amplifier IC with JFET-input circuitry. Each amplifier channel needs an appropriate supply, input bias/reference path, external feedback network and load within the specific device's limits. It is a small-signal analog building block, not a ready-to-connect speaker power amplifier, DAC, Bluetooth receiver or complete preamp. A DIP-8 OPA2134PA fits a suitable through-hole footprint or socket; an OPA2134UA in SOP-8 is a surface-mount component. An adapter can change how the SOP chip mounts, but does not alter its silicon, make it pin-compatible with every host design or include a power supply.

Audio performance depends on the actual circuit. Compare input common-mode range, required supply rails, output swing, output current, source impedance, DC offset, input bias, noise density, bandwidth, slew rate, capacitive-load stability and distortion at the intended gain and load. A seller's “warm,” “tube-like” or “fever-grade” description is a subjective claim, not a measured parameter. There is no universal improvement when replacing a NE5532, AD826 or OPA2604: the host PCB's voltage rails, compensation, load and feedback components govern whether substitution works at all. Evaluate offset and stability before connecting sensitive headphones, downstream power amplifiers or measurement inputs.

OPA2134PA DIP-8: select both part and count

Several listings are for the bare OPA2134PA through-hole dual op amp. Their selectable quantities differ: one offers 5, 10, 20 and 50 pieces; another offers 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 pieces despite a shorter “5Pcs” headline; another offers 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 pieces; and a separate page offers 2 or 5 pieces. The option selected at checkout establishes the ordered quantity, not the first number in a title or a generic “Quantity: 10” catalog field. The 10-piece multi-model DIP-8 page offers OPA2134PA or OPA2132PA, OPA604AP, OPA2604AP or OPA134PA. A selection labeled “OPA2134PA / 10Pcs” is ten OPA2134PA ICs, not a fifty-chip assortment of all five models.

OPA134 and OPA604 are single-channel amplifier families whereas OPA2132, OPA2134 and OPA2604 are dual-channel families. Even if the selected package is described as DIP-8, channel count, pin function and required external circuit must be confirmed from the exact manufacturer's part number. Selecting a family because its model appears in the page title does not mean it has the same supply, input voltage range or audible behavior as OPA2134. For repair or production, compare full suffixes and lot provenance, not only a familiar base number.

OPA2134UA SOP-8 and the adapter option

Separate offers specify ten OPA2134UA SOP-8 surface-mount devices. Another listing explicitly distinguishes “SOP-8 / OPA2134UA” with no adapter from “DIP-8 / OPA2134UA” with an adapter. The DIP-labeled variant on that page is therefore an adapted SOP part, not necessarily a native OPA2134PA DIP chip. Confirm whether the chip is already soldered to the carrier, the carrier's orientation and pin labels, overall height, adjacent-component clearance and socket contact quality. A native DIP device and an SOP device on a carrier can differ mechanically and in parasitics even if the intended electrical pin mapping is equivalent. Read the exact option, photos and actual shipped markings rather than assuming all “DIP-8” listings are the same physical part.

Empty dual-op-amp preamp boards are not populated amplifiers

Two product pages describe approximately 26 × 26 mm double-sided FR-4 dual-op-amp DC preamplifier empty boards. Their descriptions say the package includes one board and describe an eight-pin socket and supporting resistors for voltage-feedback dual op amps such as NE5532, OPA2134, OPA2604 and AD826. “Empty board” and “module” in the titles do not establish that an OPA2134 IC is included, soldered, tested or calibrated. Confirm exactly which passive parts and socket are preinstalled and whether soldering is needed. The seller's description mentions ±5 to ±18 V for its intended board configuration, which is not a verified universal supply rating for every substitute IC. Check the actual amplifier datasheet, the board's rail polarity, component voltage ratings and connector labeling before applying power.

The description calls the board a “three times” DC gain preamp and says gain can change with feedback resistor value. That is a board-level claim contingent on the as-fitted components, input/output coupling and load; verify the schematic or measure the finished build before relying on exactly 3× gain. “DC amplification” implies potential amplification of source offset as well as wanted signal. Include headroom for input offset and downstream DC sensitivity. The board is a line-level signal stage, not a speaker-power driver, and its small size does not imply universal enclosure or host-board compatibility.

Other selectable audio devices are not OPA2134 stock

A one-piece multi-model dual-op-amp page includes selectable OPA2134PA alongside OPA2604AQ, LME49720NA, LM4562NA, MUSES01/02/8820/8920, AD827SQ and LME49860NA. Select “OPA2134PA” to order that specific model; a selection of “MUSES02” or “LM4562NA” orders a different device. Their datasheets, supply requirements, input topology, noise, bandwidth, output drive and pinouts must be evaluated individually. Some options carry different package suffixes or special physical construction. A broad claim that each is an “original dual OPAMP” does not independently verify manufacturer provenance, authorized distribution or a safe drop-in upgrade.

An OPA2132 DIP-8 listing claims replacement compatibility with AD712, AD828, OPA2604, OPA2134 and NE5532. Its default offer is OPA2132, not OPA2134. These circuits can have different biasing and supply behavior; a socket fit is not sufficient evidence of stability or audio performance in a particular preamp. Another listing offers AK05 “dual-channel” and AK06 “single-channel” replacement modules under a title that mentions OPA2134PA and several MUSES variants. Those are distinct adapter or substitute products, not OPA2134PA chips. Choose channel count and verify pinout, mounting height, rails, quiescent current, offset and load stability before insertion.

Resolve questionable fields before designing

One OPA2134PA page supplies a generic 1.6–5.8 V “Supply Voltage” and a garbled temperature field, while other pages label the same class of op amp as a “voltage regulator,” “drive IC” or “switch.” Such catalog taxonomy and placeholder values are not a verified OPA2134 electrical specification. Do not use 1.6–5.8 V as a design rule for the OPA2134 merely because it appears in a reseller table. Confirm the exact manufacturer datasheet's recommended and absolute maximum ratings for the suffix actually received, including split or single-supply operation and input/output operating envelope. Claims of 100% original, imported, upgraded or guaranteed sound quality similarly need independent evidence for a selected lot; this collection provides no authentication or test certificate.

Engineering selection checklist

  1. Start with the assembly: do you need a bare OPA2134PA DIP-8 chip, OPA2134UA SOP-8 chip, SOP device on a DIP adapter, or a PCB without its amplifier?
  2. Confirm the selected variant's exact part number and quantity. A multi-model title never overrides a variant labeled OPA134, OPA2604, MUSES02, AK05 or OPA2132.
  3. Check single-versus-dual architecture and actual pin-1 orientation, board/socket footprint, carrier height and soldering requirements.
  4. For a circuit change, compare supply rails, permitted input common-mode range, closed-loop gain/stability, feedback network, output headroom and load to the target IC datasheet. Avoid applying a generic reseller voltage field to the chip.
  5. For audio work, budget input level, desired gain, DC offset, noise, signal reference, ground loops and output-load requirements; subjective tonal descriptors are not specifications.
  6. For production or repair, verify markings, provenance, lot consistency and measured behavior of received parts independently rather than treating “original” in a title as proof.

Frequently asked questions

Is every product in this collection an OPA2134? No. Some pages offer other chips, substitute modules or an empty dual-op-amp PCB. Read the selected variant.

Does an OPA2134UA DIP-8 option mean a native DIP chip? Not on the listing that distinguishes SOP-8 without adapter from DIP-8 with adapter. It describes an SOP chip supplied with a DIP carrier; confirm assembly.

Does the empty preamp board contain an OPA2134? Its description calls it an empty board and lists one board in the package. Do not assume an op amp is included without explicit confirmation on the chosen offer.

Can OPA2134 automatically replace NE5532? No. An apparent dual-DIP pin fit does not prove supply, input range, offset, output load or stability compatibility in the host circuit.

Is OPA134 just another name for OPA2134? No. OPA134 is a single-amplifier family; OPA2134 is dual. Select the exact device.

Does a ten-piece multi-model page contain ten of every model? No. Its variants specify ten pieces of the selected model, such as OPA2134PA / 10Pcs.

Can I power OPA2134 from 1.6–5.8 V because a product table says so? Do not rely on that inconsistent seller field. Consult the correct manufacturer datasheet and board schematic for the actual suffix and supply arrangement.

Is “tube-like” sound or originality verified? Neither a subjective listening claim nor manufacturer provenance is established by the title alone. Verify the selected device and, where important, the supply chain and measured circuit performance.

Yoeruyo retains the existing products in this selection. Choose by the exact variant and verify the device-level design constraints before purchase or substitution.
