Operational Amplifier ICs, Precision Modules and Adapters
Operational amplifiers for signal conditioning, audio and precision circuits
This collection combines single, dual and quad operational-amplifier ICs with assembled analog modules, audio replacement assemblies, SOIC-to-DIP adapters, sockets and evaluation/test accessories. It also contains instrumentation amplifiers, complete preamplifier/DAC/power-amplifier boards and occasional unrelated computer products. The collection name is a shopping entry point, not a claim that every product is a bare op amp or interchangeable with another listing. Choose the selected model, form factor and pack count before comparing circuit specifications.
Start with the physical product
A bare LM321, LM358, LM324, TL072, TL074, NE5532, OP07, OP27, OPA1611/1612, OPA1656, OPA1622, OPA2134, MUSES02 or AD797 is an IC for a designed PCB, not a finished amplifier. Other listings place an IC on a SOIC-to-DIP8 carrier, join two single-channel ICs onto a dual-footprint adapter, or sell a large discrete replacement under SS3601/SS3602, HDAM, V5i-D, V6, OPS100/OPS200, Oracle II or SX52B names. Their size, supply demand, pin maps and intended channel counts can differ even if advertised as “upgrades.” Finished TL072 guitar preamps, NE5532 tone boards, INA333 instrumentation modules, OPA657/OPA847 wideband stages, TLV9062 adjustable-gain modules and LM317/LM337 supply boards are different physical assemblies with different power and connector requirements. A blank dual-op-amp PCB, DIP8 extension socket or basic tester contains no equivalent signal-amplification function. An Arduino UNO R4, complete Class-D amplifier, DAC, Bluetooth unit, SSD or computer component appearing here is not itself an operational-amplifier IC. Compare the individual listing rather than inferring its contents from the collection heading.
Single, dual and quad are not substitute packages
Channel count is intrinsic to a selected component or assembled adapter. A single-channel OPA627 or OPA828 is not a native dual IC: variants labeled “dual OPA828” or “OPA627AU single to dual” may represent two single chips mounted on a converter. Verify that both chips are actually fitted, that the adapter routes the correct dual pinout and that the board has clearance. MUSES01 and MUSES02 are presented as dual options while MUSES03 listings offer a single option; check the exact suffix rather than relying on a combined “01/02/03” title. Quad LM324, TL064/074/084 and OPA4134 devices generally require a 14-pin footprint, not the same socket as a dual DIP8. A TL061, TL062 and TL072 multi-model listing offers different channel and performance choices, not a single universal part. Several LM358-titled listings include LM293, LM393, LM339, NE555, MC34063 or LM324 variants: those are comparators, a timer, a switching-regulator controller or a quad amplifier, not all LM358 op amps. Likewise 60-piece or 45-piece assortment kits list mixed analog and non-op-amp ICs; inspect the actual bill of materials and quantities.
Compare the datasheet at the operating point
Start by specifying supply rails, sensor or audio source impedance, intended closed-loop gain, input common-mode voltage, output swing and load. Then compare input offset and drift, bias current, voltage and current noise, gain-bandwidth, slew rate, phase margin, minimum stable gain, capacitive-load drive, output current, package thermal limits and temperature grade. “Low noise” without bandwidth and source impedance is not enough to select a part; “rail-to-rail” may refer only to input or only to output. A high-bandwidth IC may be unstable in a low-gain circuit that was designed for a slower chip. A JFET-input part may reduce sensor loading but needs the right feedback and supply. A precision DC amplifier, a headphone driver, an instrumentation amplifier, a comparator and a Class-D power stage solve different problems. Check the full manufacturer orderable suffix and current datasheet rather than assigning a single voltage range or performance figure to the collection.
Instrumentation amplifiers and differential paths
INA333 “three op amp” descriptions refer to an internal instrumentation-amplifier architecture, not three freely usable general-purpose amplifiers. Some variants offer an INA333 bare chip, an INA333 module or an INA199A2DCKR chip in the same listing; INA199 is not the same IC as an INA333 module. Select “Chip” versus “Module” and the quantity independently. Confirm gain-setting method, reference input, input common-mode limits, supply range, output headroom, source impedance and sensor safety from the exact device and board documentation. AD8129 differential-amplifier chips and SSM2141 balanced-to-unbalanced interface listings also have their own signal topology. Their presence does not mean they can be swapped into an ordinary general-purpose op-amp socket.
Audio replacements and complete boards
NE5532, NJM/JRC5532, NJM4558, TL072, OPA2604, OPA2134, OPA1612, OPA1656, LM4562/LME49720 and MUSES listings may serve different audio circuits. “DIP8 compatible,” “Class A,” “better than,” “original,” “upgrade” or “directly replaces” is not proof of appropriate power, input common-mode, DC offset, feedback stability, output load or improved sound. Compare the host schematic and rail voltages, socket pinout, bypassing, nearby-component clearance and original device's role; test output DC and oscillation before connecting headphones or loudspeakers. A power-amplifier board featuring a small-signal op amp is still a complete power stage with its own supply and load rating. A finished balanced preamp may offer potentiometer, no-potentiometer and different op-amp variants, not one fixed configuration. A portable tube headphone amplifier with “4PCS 627BP” in its title is a complete product, not a bag of four bare OPA627 chips. Seller claims about wattage, authenticity, certifications, distortion and audible results need evidence for the actual selected unit; do not generalize them.
High-speed modules and measurement limits
OPA657 and OPA847 modules are distinct high-speed stages, with variants for single or double channel and even AD797 modules in one listing. Do not mistake a chip-level GHz marketing figure for verified board-level usable bandwidth: gain, feedback network, board layout, connector launch, power bypass, load and measurement equipment all constrain results. A TLV9062 module's advertised gain and supply are assembly-specific, not properties of every TLV9062-family chip variant listed nearby. Basic LED op-amp testers can help with gross faults but cannot measure input noise, offset, frequency response, distortion, stability or die authenticity. Verify a precision or RF design using an appropriate datasheet, board-level characterization and qualified test setup.
Package and order contents checklist
- Identify whether the selection is a bare IC, populated DIP adapter, pair of singles, discrete module, complete board, empty PCB, socket, tester or unrelated complete device.
- Read every variant option: MUSES01/02/03, OPA1652/1656/1632/1642, TLV9002/9052/9062/9102 and other multi-model headings offer different devices. “1PCS,” “2PCS,” “5PCS” and “100PCS” describe quantities of the selected item, not channels.
- Confirm through-hole DIP8 or DIP14, SOIC/SOP8 or SOP14, TSSOP8, SOT-23-5 and other footprints, including pitch, pin 1 and adapter height. One LF347 option even says “SOP16” under a quad-amplifier heading: verify actual marking and package before ordering.
- Match the selected manufacturer's part-number suffix and datasheet to supply, input/output ranges, noise, offset, speed, stability, load and temperature grade.
- For modules, check board-level supply type, connectors, feedback/gain, fitted chips and heat dissipation. A separate LM317/LM337 dual-rail regulator board is not included with every amplifier.
- For critical sourcing or repeat production, request traceable lot evidence and application-specific test data rather than accepting generic seller authenticity or performance language.
Frequently asked questions
Is every variant in an LM358-titled listing an op amp? No. Some choices are LM393/LM339 comparators, NE555 timers or other parts. Read the selected variant.
Does “dual OPA627” mean a native two-channel OPA627 IC? No. Check whether the offer is two single chips populated on an adapter or an empty converter board.
Is INA333 Module the same as INA333 Chip? No. One is an assembled board; the other is a loose component. An INA199 chip listed alongside them is another device.
Will any DIP8 audio op amp safely replace NE5532? No. Pin fit alone does not confirm electrical and loop-stability compatibility.
Do wideband module titles guarantee the quoted GHz performance? No. Verify the assembled circuit at its selected gain and load.
Is an op-amp tester a precision characterization instrument? No. It is a basic screening accessory, not a datasheet validation or authenticity test.
Do the product titles imply certification or genuine manufacturer origin? No independent verification follows from those phrases; obtain appropriate documentation when it matters.
