Sealed cable junction boxes for outdoor wiring
This collection contains waterproof inline and multi-way cable junction boxes for joining and distributing electrical wiring. The current range is built around IP65, IP66 and IP68 product listings with 2-way through 10-way layouts, straight, T-shaped, Y-shaped and round formats, and cable-entry ranges from approximately 3mm to 15mm.
These products are wiring connectors with terminals and cable glands, not general-purpose ABS PCB project enclosures. The collection does not currently provide clear-lid electronics boxes, DIN-rail cases, PCB mounting bosses or the broad enclosure size range previously described.
Product formats
- 2-way 1-in/1-out: PG9, M20 and related straight junction boxes for cable ranges including 3–6.5mm, 4–8mm, 5–9mm, 6–11mm, 9–12mm and 12–15mm, depending on the product.
- 3-way 1-in/2-out: T-shaped, Y-shaped and selectable 2-way/3-way products, including screw-terminal and screwless lever-terminal designs.
- 4-way 1-in/3-out: multi-branch junction boxes with selectable gland ranges such as 4–8mm, 8–12mm and 10–14mm.
- 6-way, 8-way and 10-way: distribution boxes for multiple cable branches, with the exact inlet/outlet arrangement stated on each product page.
- Pack options: selected products are sold as one piece, two pieces or three pieces; pack quantity is not a pin-count specification.
How to choose a waterproof junction box
- Choose the wiring layout: identify the required number of incoming and outgoing cables. “Way” may describe cable branches rather than electrical poles, so check the terminal layout.
- Measure cable outside diameter: select a gland range that can compress around the finished cable jacket. Common current options span 3–6.5mm through 10–14mm, with one listing extending to 15mm.
- Match conductor capacity: confirm conductor cross-section, terminal type and pole count on the individual listing. Products in this collection do not share one universal wire range.
- Verify voltage and current: ratings such as 17.5A/450V or 24A/450V appear on specific listings only. Use the product-level rating and applicable installation rules.
- Select the ingress rating: IP65, IP66 and IP68 are not interchangeable. Buy the rating stated for the exact product and verify any stated immersion conditions.
- Install correctly: ingress protection depends on intact seals, correctly sized round cables, fully tightened glands, proper assembly and all unused entries being sealed.
IP rating boundaries
An IP rating applies to the tested or declared assembled product, not automatically to every installation. Cutting, modifying, under-tightening or using the wrong cable diameter can compromise the seal. IP68 does not by itself define unlimited depth or duration; any immersion limit must come from the specific product documentation.
The IP65 PG9 products are described for outdoor cable protection and explicitly should not be assumed suitable for direct underwater use. Product pages that mention particular depth, duration, temperature, voltage, current or certifications must be evaluated individually rather than applied across the collection.
Materials and applications
Many current products specify PC housings, with selected listings also identifying PA66 gland components and brass or copper contacts. Materials vary, so the collection is not uniformly ABS, UL94V-0 or certified to one common standard.
Typical stated uses include outdoor lighting, garden wiring, LED installations, solar equipment and protected underground cable connections. Suitability for mains wiring, pools, permanent immersion, marine systems or underground installation depends on the exact product rating, local electrical code and professional installation.
Out-of-scope product
One E27/E40 porcelain lamp-holder listing is currently mixed into this collection. It is a lamp socket, not a waterproof cable junction box, and its specifications must not be used to define this range.

Are these PCB electronics enclosures?
No. The current products are primarily cable junction and distribution connectors with glands and internal terminals.
Does every product have an IP68 rating?
No. The range includes IP65, IP66 and IP68 listings. Check the exact product before ordering.
Can an IP68 box be used underwater indefinitely?
Not based on the IP68 label alone. Verify the manufacturer’s stated depth, duration, cable type and installation method for the selected product.
What determines the correct gland size?
Measure the outside diameter of the complete cable jacket and choose a listed sealing range that contains that measurement.
Are all products rated 24A at 450V?
No. Some listings state 24A/450V, while others state 17.5A/450V or provide different information. Follow the individual product rating.
