working principle
Incremental encoder is a rotary sensor that converts rotary displacement into a series of digital pulse signals. These pulses are used to control angular displacement. The reading system is based on the rotation of the radial indexing disk (code disk) composed of alternating light transmitting window loops and light impervious window loops. At the same time, the image of the code disk is projected onto the surface of the receiver by a vertical illumination of an infrared light source. The receiver is covered with a diffraction grating. It has the same window back width as the code disk. The receiver's job is to feel the changes caused by the rotation of the disc. The light change is then converted into the corresponding electrical change. Then the low-level signal rises to a higher level. And generate square pulse without any interference. This must be handled by electronic circuits. The reading system is usually differential. That is to say, compare two different signals with the same waveform but a ceiling level difference of 180 °.
