working principle

Incremental encoder is a rotary sensor that converts rotary displacement into a series of digital pulse signals. These pulses are used to control angular displacement. In Eltra encoder, the photoelectric scanning principle is used for the conversion of angular displacement. The reading system is based on the rotation of the radial indexing disk (code disk) composed of alternating light transmitting window loops and light impervious window loops. At the same time, the image of the code disk is projected onto the surface of the receiver by a vertical illumination of an infrared light source. The receiver is covered with a diffraction grating. It has the same window back width as the code disk. The receiver's job is to feel the changes caused by the rotation of the disc.
