This is a PDM MEMS microphone, PDM is the "third type" microphone that can be integrated with electronic devices in addition to analog or I2S. These microphones are very commonly used in products, but are rarely seen in maker projects. Firstly, it should be noted that this sensor does not provide "analog" output like many of our electret microphone components. Therefore, it is very suitable for chips without analog inputs. Secondly, the digital interface is a very simple pulse density modulation output. It is digital, but not PWM or I2S. You need to ensure that your chip has a PDM interface - most 32-bit processors today have it!
PDM is a bit like 1-bit PWM, where you provide the microphone with a clock at a rate of 1 MHz to 3 MHz and obtain a square wave synchronized with the clock on the data line. The data line has a logic output of 0 or 1, and the square wave generates density. After averaging, it will produce an analog value output.
