RAK3172 is a low-power long-distance transceiver module based on STM32WLE5CC chip, suitable for LoRa and LoRaWAN applications. Its firmware is based on RAKwireless Unified Interface V3 (RUI3), which allows you to create different functions using the RUIII API. It provides an easy-to-use, compact, and low-power solution for long-distance wireless data applications. This module complies with the A, B, and C standards of the LoRaWAN 1.0.3 specification and can easily connect to different LoRaWAN server platforms, such as TheThingsNetwork (TTN), Chirpstack, Helium, etc. It also supports LoRa peer-to-peer (P2P) communication mode, which can help you quickly build your own customized long-distance LoRa network.

It can create custom firmware as a standalone device through the RUI3 API, or be deployed as a LORA modem with an external host (such as a microcontroller or microprocessor), configured with AT and binary commands through the UART interface, and send commands to it.

Please note that the differences between different versions are only in the labels on the modules to reflect different regional telecommunications certifications. The "with IPEX" version has different hardware on its RF path compared to the "without IPEX" version. This means that if the "with IPEX" version is selected, the RF pin arrangement will be internally disconnected. If 'No IPEX' is selected, the RF path of the IPEX connector will also be disconnected.
