1.2 Module Overview
The HC-12 wireless serial communication module is a next-generation, multi-channel embedded wireless data-transmission module. The wireless operating frequency band is 433.4 to 473.0 MHz, with multiple channels configurable in 400kHz steps, for a total of 100. The MAX module has a transmit power of 100mW (20 dBm), a receive sensitivity of −116 dBm at an air-interface baud rate of 5,000 bps, and a communication range of 1,000 meters in open terrain.
The module adopts stamp hole packaging method and can be patch welded. The size of the module is 27.4mm x 13.2mm x 4mm (including antenna cap and excluding spring antenna), which is very convenient for customers to embed into the application system. The module features a PCB‑mounted antenna connector, ANT1, which allows users to connect an external 433 MHz‑band antenna via coaxial cable. Additionally, the module includes an antenna solder pad, ANT2, for conveniently attaching a spring antenna. Users can select one of the antennas based on their application requirements.
The module integrates an MCU, so users do not need to program it separately. In various transparent‑transmission modes, simply send and receive serial‑port data for convenient operation. The module supports multiple serial‑to‑Ethernet transparent‑transmission modes, which users can select via AT commands according to their application requirements. In the idle state, the average operating currents of the four modes FU1, FU2, FU3, and FU4 are 3.6 mA, 80 μA, 16 mA, and 16 mA, respectively, with a maximum operating current of 100mA (in full-power transmission mode).
