BNO085 is a high-performance 9-axis IMU sensor module.

It integrates accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer, with built-in powerful attitude fusion algorithm.

Equipped with STEMMA QT / Qwiic I2C interface, plug-and-play, easy wiring and quick connection.

This is the motion sensor you’ve been looking for: it provides you with ready-to-use information, without requiring you to first consult a PhD to learn the mysterious art of sensor fusion. The BNO085 encapsulates decades of work by experts on extracting useful information directly from motion sensor measurements, all packed into a tiny 5.2 × 3.8 mm package.

Please note that the BNO085 is the “fixed upgrade” to the BNO080 – it is fully backward-compatible with the BNO080, while also fixing the SPI timeout errors that made the BNO080 difficult to use with SPI. Priced the same as the original, the '085 works with all your existing '080 code, so we now carry only the '085!

Developed by motion sensing experts at CEVA Hillcrest Labs, the BNO085 uses the familiar 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer configuration. An Arm Cortex-M2 processor running CEVA’s SH-0 firmware handles reading the sensors, fusing the measurements into directly usable data, and delivering it to you pre-packaged. If the name and description of the BNO085 sound surprisingly similar to Bosch Sensortec’s BNO055, there’s a good reason for that: they are related, yet different. Due to a unique agreement between Bosch and CEVA, the BNO085 uses the same hardware as the BNO055, but runs completely different firmware.
