Description:
The ML8511 branch is an easy to use UV sensor. The MP8511 ultraviolet (UV)
sensor works by outputting an analog signal related to the amount of UV being
measured. This breakthrough comes in handy when creating devices that warn
users of sunburn or test UV indices related to weather conditions.
The range of effective light tested by the sensor is 280-390nm. This is classified as
part of the UV (combustion rays) spectrum and most of the UVA (tanning rays)
spectrum. It outputs an analog voltage that is linearly related to the measured UV
intensity (mW/cm2). If your microcontroller can do analog-to-digital conversion,
then you can test UV levels!
The ML8511 UV lamp can be used in direct proportion to the analog voltage
output. Since the output voltage can be connected directly to the MCU's built-in
A/D digital-to-analog converter, no photoelectric conversion circuit is required.
And it uses a small, low-profile surface mount package that is suitable for use in
portable devices.
The package contains:
1 x 8511 ML8511 UVB ray sensor
