8 nanometer ARM SoC
Edge2 is powered by the RK3588S2, a next generation 8-core 64-bit SoC from Rockchip. The RK3588S2 is Rockchip's newest flagship IoT SoC utilizing the 8 nanometer lithography process. As a result, power consumption is similar to the RK3399, yet we have achieved an overall performance boost of up to 2.5 times.

Octa Core Processor

Edge2 is equipped with an 8-core 64-bit CPU (up to 2.25GHz clock speed). x4 2.25GHz Cortex-A76 performance cores are paired with x4 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.

Extreme GPU Performance

The RK3588S2 has an integrated 4-core GPU, the ARM Mali-G610 MP4 (up to 1GHz clock speed) which supports a lag-free 4K user interface. 3D rendering has been greatly improved and you can play expansive open-world online games, console games and even some AAA titles.

High Performance NPU

The RK3588S2 has a built-in NPU which provides up to 6 TOPS (tera operations per second) of neural network processing. The NPU supports mainstream deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, Pytorch, MxNET and so on. The powerful RK3588S2 brings optimized neural network performance to various A.I. applications.

Quad Display Interfaces

Edge2’s hardware supports up to four independent displays. This greatly expands the potential applications of Edge2 in multi-display scenarios such as digital signage, development and gaming.

8K Decoding & Encoding

Powerful video encoding and decoding capabilities enable Edge2 to output beautifully crisp and clear 8K HD resolution. This will greatly expand the potential applications of Edge2 in multi-display environments such as digital signage, entertainment and gaming.

High Speed Wireless

Edge2 integrates the Ampak AP6275P Wi-Fi 6 PCIe module, which is capable of high-speed wireless data transmission. This module supports IEEE 802.11 b/n/g/a/ac/ax and 2T2R for greater bandwidth. This advanced wireless transceiver module makes data transmission stable and fast. Bluetooth 5.0 is supported as well.

Maker Friendly

Edge2 is an ultraslim, credit-card sized ARM PC that is designed with Pogo Pads, FPC headers and MIPI-Interfaces which makes it convenient for Programmers and Developers to access the necessary I/O. The beautifully designed polycarbonate shell increases electrostatic resistance which means Makers will have a stable and predictable PCBA upon which to build their projects.

Maker Friendly

Pogo Pads
Edge2 has a 7-pin Pogo Pads connector for USB extension, UART debugging and 5V power output for developers.

RTC Battery
The onboard rechargeable RTC battery and STM32 microcontroller allows for automated system power-on and stand-by.

x3 MIPI-CSI Interfaces
Edge2 has three MIPI-CSI headers, and the inbuilt ISP supports up to 48MP per interface.

I/O Expansion Module

OOWOW is a standalone embedded service for seamless online OS delivery, device maintenance, and much more! OOWOW is developed and maintained by Khadas Team. Make system installation much easier with OOWOW. You can download and install your preferred OS directly from the Cloud. OOWOW will start automatically if the device storage is empty, with OOWOW you will always be in control of your Edge2.

Multi OS Support

Edge2 supports a wide range of popular open source operating systems, such as Ubuntu and Android. It provides a reliable and stable software environment for product development and production. Software developers in partnership with Khadas, will release more customised operating systems for the Edge2 in the coming months.
