🚨 Critical Setup & Usage Warnings:
【AVOID FRUSTRATION – READ BEFORE YOU BUY & BUILD】
YOU MUST PROVIDE CONNECTION ACCESSORIES! This is a bare module. It does NOT include wires or jumper caps. To use it, you must have:
4 x Female-to-Female Dupont Wires (for VCC, GND, OUT, EN).
1 x 2-Pin Jumper Cap or a short wire to bridge the EN pin to GND. Without this bridge, the sensor will NOT work.
DISTANCE IS MATERIAL-DEPENDENT: The 2-40cm range is for highly reflective (white) surfaces. For dark or non-reflective (black) objects, the effective range can be as low as 2-5cm. Always test with your actual target.
CALIBRATION IS REQUIRED FOR LINE FOLLOWING: For best line tracking:
Mount sensor 1-2cm above ground, pointing down.
First, adjust the 502 potentiometer (FREQ) over a white surface until the output is most stable (LED flickers least).
Then, adjust the 103 potentiometer (SENS) over the black line to get a clear LOW signal, while maintaining HIGH over the white background.
ENABLE PIN FOR POWER SAVING: For battery projects, connect EN to a microcontroller GPIO. Set the pin LOW to activate the sensor, HIGH to put it to sleep, drastically reducing idle current.
AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT & HIGH GLOSS: Strong ambient IR (sunlight) or highly reflective floors can saturate the receiver, causing false triggers or reduced sensitivity. Test in your intended environment.
