Product Introduction
MD04 is a dual H-bridge high-power motor driver composed of 8 discrete MOSFETs, with each branch of the H-bridge made up of one N-channel MOSFET. The core motor driver chip processes peripheral input signals and controls the on/off state of the MOSFETs.
The MD04 high-power motor driver supports a wide voltage input range of 6‑30V; excessive input voltage may cause permanent damage to the driver. Suitable for various motor driving scenarios, it delivers a continuous current up to 23A without requiring an additional heatsink. The module measures 53×58mm, accepts control signals within 1.8‑5V voltage range, and only needs 4 IO pins to realize forward/reverse rotation and speed control of the dual-channel H-bridge.

The SLP pin is default low level. For normal use, pull the SLP pin high; it can be directly connected to the positive pole of logic power supply or controlled through MCU IO ports.
Note: H and L in the table represent high and low levels respectively. The maximum input voltage of the logic drive part shall not exceed 5.5V, compatible with 1.8V, 3.3V and 5V systems.

PWM Frequency
The MD02 motor driver supports a maximum PWM frequency of 100kHz. Note that switching loss of the drive circuit increases proportionally with PWM frequency, so 10‑30kHz is the recommended operating range for motor driving under normal conditions.
Current Sensing & Current Limiting
The CS pin serves as the current sensing pin of the MD02 motor driver. Its output voltage is proportional to the motor current at a ratio of approximately 50mV/A, with an extra offset of about 50mV. That means the CS pin outputs roughly 50mV when no current passes through the motor; at 10A motor current, Vcs = 50mV/A × 10 + 0.05V = 0.55V.
Please note that the current sensing function does not capture peak transient current during motor startup and stop, and only works when the driver runs in forward/reverse rotation modes.
Driver current limiting is realized via the resistor at the Vref pin, with the default limit set to 30A.
