3-in-1 SD Card Reader Module Series – Micro TF / Standard SD / MINI SD, SPI Interface, Level Shifter, 3.3V/5V Compatible for Arduino ESP32

Key Features & Benefits:

️ Onboard Level Shifter: Compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, protects your SD card and microcontroller.

Standard SPI Interface: 6Pin breakout (GND, VCC, MISO, MOSI, SCK, CS). Works with Arduino/ESP32 SD libraries, no complex drivers.

3 Options in 1 Link: Choose from Micro TF, Standard SD, or MINI SD modules to match your project's storage needs.

Flexible Installation (Header Status Varies by Module):

• Micro TF Module: Headers pre-soldered, ready to use

• Standard SD Module: Headers pre-soldered, ready to use

• MINI SD Module: Headers NOT soldered, soldering required (or choose our soldering service)

Wide Power Input: Supports 4.5V-5.5V input, onboard 3.3V regulator provides stable power for SD cards.

Mounting Holes: M2 screw positioning holes (2.2mm diameter) for easy and secure installation

Product Description:

This series of SD card reader modules is the ideal storage expansion solution for your Arduino, ESP32, and other microcontroller projects. Whether you're building a temperature data logger, GPS tracker, MP3 player, or adding local storage to smart home devices, these modules handle the job effortlessly. The onboard level shifter ensures safe communication between 3.3V SD cards and 5V microcontrollers – plug and play, stable and reliable.

Quick Start Guide & Important Tips

What It Does & What You Need

This module does: Expands storage for microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, etc.) – reads/writes files on SD/TF cards via SPI
This module is NOT: A finished USB card reader – cannot be plugged directly into a computer's USB port

️ 【IMPORTANT: Header Status by Module】

You will need:

• Microcontroller (Arduino Uno/Nano/Mega, ESP32, ESP8266, etc.)

• Jumper wires

• SD/TF card (must be formatted to FAT16 or FAT32)

• ( For MINI SD only) Soldering iron and solderers.s.

Wiring Guide (SPI Mode)

️ Critical Warnings!

NEVER apply 5V to the 3.3V pin – the module's VCC accepts 5V (onboard regulator), but directly connecting 5V to the SD card's 3.3V pin will instantly destroy the card!

Card type must match: TF card cannot be inserted into Standard SD module, and vice versa

Format before use: New SD cards MUST be formatted to FAT16 or FAT32 on a PC before use with microcontrollers

Common Questions & Tips

Why doesn't my computer recognize the module when plugged in?

This module is not a USB card reader. It connects to microcontrollers like Arduino/ESP32, not directly to a computer's USB port.

How do I solder the header pins for the MINI SD module?

Solder the header pins to the back side of the board (non-component side), with pins facing down. The pads are 2.54mm pitch, standard pin headers work. Not confident in soldering? Choose our "Soldering Service" option.

My Arduino can't detect the SD card. What's wrong?

• Double-check wiring (especially MISO/MOSI/SCK/CS connections)

• Ensure the SD card is formatted to FAT16 or FAT32

• Verify the CS pin matches your code

• Try a different SD card (some low-speed cards have better compatibility)

Can I power the module with ESP32's 3.3V?

Yes. The module supports 3.3V-5.5V input. The onboard level shifter handles both voltages automatically.

Are the SPI pin layouts the same for all three modules?

Yes. All three modules use the same 6Pin layout: GND, VCC, MISO, MOSI, SCK, CS. Only the card slot type differs.
