The MP1584EN is an ultra-compact DC-DC step-down module based on the genuine MPS (Monolithic Power Systems) chip. It efficiently steps down input voltages up to 28V to an adjustable output from 0.8V to 20V, delivering up to 3A of load current. With a 1MHz switching frequency, output ripple is as low as 30mV. Its tiny footprint makes it the ideal choice for space-constrained projects. 🚨 Critical Notes Before Use!
❌ 【Product Clarification】: This is anadjustable buck module, NOT a fixed-output power supply!
The output voltage must be set by you. Default voltage may be random. ALWAYS measure and adjust with a multimeter before connecting your load to avoid overvoltage damage.
⚠️ 【Most Common Misconceptions & Misuse】
Input voltage MUST NOT exceed 28V! Exceeding 28V DC will destroy the module.
Output current rating: 3A is peak; for continuous operation, keep below 2.5A and ensure adequate cooling.
Adjust carefully: The trimming potentiometer is delicate. Turn gently and slowly to avoid damage or sudden voltage spikes.
Input/output capacitors are essential: You must add electrolytic capacitors (≥100µF recommended) across input and output to filter ripple and prevent oscillation. The module does not include these capacitors.
Step-down limitation: This is a BUCK converter. Output voltage must be at least 1V lower than input voltage (dropout requirement). For 5V output, input must be ≥6V.
Load type considerations: Suitable for resistive, capacitive loads, most DC motors, and LEDs. Not suitable for directly charging batteries (requires a charge management circuit).

Soldering: Solder headers or wires as needed (observe polarity: IN+, IN- for input; OUT+, OUT- for output).
Add capacitors: Solder electrolytic capacitors (≥100µF) across input and output to reduce ripple.
Adjust voltage: Apply input power (no load). Measure output voltage with a multimeter and slowly turn the potentiometer to your desired voltage.
Connect load: Disconnect power, then connect your load correctly.
Power on: Reapply power and verify operation.
