This SDI-12 protocol converter has been on the market for over a decade. It features a complete range of interfaces, is stable and reliable, has low power consumption, and a long transmission distance (as measured by customers, it can reach up to 450 meters). The product supports all SDI-12 interface sensors. 1. SDI-12 commands may be issued to SDI-12 protocol-compliant sensors via RS232, TTL (shared with RS232) or RS485 serial ports, with responses returned through the serial interface. Bidirectional data on the SDI-12 protocol bus may also be captured;

2. The baud rate is adjustable within the range of 600–921,600 bps. User-set baud rates are stored in memory and remain intact after power loss. Supports LED flashing modes, operational mode configuration, and other functions;

3. Conversion Modes: Supports transparent conversion between RS232 (shared TTL/RS232 interface), RS485, and SDI-12 protocols;

4. Protocol Standard: Supports SDI-12 version 1.3 and above;

5. Power Supply: External DC 3.6V–14V input;

6. Operating Current: Standby current approximately 2mA.

Method of Use:

(1) Select one interface type—RS232, TTL, or RS485—to connect to a computer or other data acquisition device;

(2) Connect the SDI-12 sensor;

(3) If connecting to a computer, open any serial port debugging assistant, select the appropriate serial port number, set the baud rate to 9600, 8, N, 1, then send sensor commands in ASCII text format.
