Important Notes:
1. Does not support U.2 drives. Must be connected to a DC power supply rated at 12V/3A or higher during use.
2. Supports only SAS 2.5-inch hard drives or SSDs. Does not support U.2 SSDs.
3. SAS drives incorporate additional identification mechanisms, resulting in longer drive recognition times. Normal recognition takes 15-20 seconds.
4. This adapter card connects server SAS drives to standard motherboard USB ports, enabling SAS drives on regular computers without requiring RAID controllers.
4. Supports only 512, 4K, and 4Kn sectors. Drives with 520/528 sectors cannot be used.
5. The USB-to-SAS adapter cable requires an external DC power supply (12V/3A+) for operation.
6. Due to differing SMART codes between SAS and SATA drives, converting SAS to SATA protocol causes code mismatches. This issue currently has no solution, resulting in incomplete or missing SMART data post-conversion. While normal read/write functions remain unaffected, buyers requiring full SMART functionality should proceed with caution.
7. Huawei SSDs or mechanical drives are incompatible; please do not purchase. (May be labeled as whitelisted hardware)
8. This adapter cable supports Gen1 5Gbps, which is fully sufficient for SAS mechanical hard drives.
9. SAS drives incorporate extensive security checks and encryption mechanisms due to server use. Recognition may take 10-20 seconds longer than standard SATA drives—this is normal. Proceed with caution if this concerns you.
10. Due to the wide variety of SAS drives, full compatibility cannot be guaranteed. Some drives may not be recognized. Proceed with caution if this concerns you. Additionally, most units on the market are secondhand. Used drives may exhibit defects like bad sectors or damaged read/write heads, potentially causing recognition failures. If the drive emits clicking noises upon powering on, this indicates a drive issue and is not a defect of this product.
11. SAS hard drives do not support hot-swapping; only the USB end supports hot-plugging.
