Overview of FY-XILINX IC Cable

FY-XILINX IC CABLE is a high-performance download cable designed for programming and configuring XILINX CPLD, FPGA, and ISP PROM. It utilizes a USB interface and connects to a desktop or laptop computer via a high-speed shielded USB cable, eliminating the need for an external power supply. In serial mode, it provides a maximum configuration speed of up to 30Mb/s for FPGA devices.

For example, configuring an XC3S400 device with a 12M configuration clock takes only 0.5 seconds, while configuring a Virtex5-110T with a 6M configuration clock takes 8 seconds. As long as the connection line is in good contact, the configuration failure phenomenon that often occurs with parallel download lines is almost non-existent.

Using iMPACT software, device programming and configuration can be performed through boundary scan, either in serial or SPI mode. Additionally, the Platform Cable USB Compatible also supports indirect programming of Platform Flash XL and other memories via the JTAG port. Programming rates are selectable from 750kHz to 30MHz.
