Digital Signal Processor ICs & Audio DSP Equipment

Digital signal processors: from bare silicon to finished audio systems

This collection spans two very different purchasing needs: bare DSP semiconductor devices for PCB-level engineering, and assembled audio processing equipment for speakers, studios and vehicles. It also contains processor-based development boards, amplifiers, effects units and a function generator. The presence of “DSP” in a title does not establish that the item is a standalone programmable DSP chip, nor that its output can power a speaker. Choose the physical product class first, then match the exact selected model and signal path.

Bare DSP ICs and closely related silicon

  • TMS320C6748: separate listings name TMS320C6748EZWTD4, TMS320C6748EZCEA3 and TMS320C6748EZWT in 361-ball BGA descriptions. These are processor ICs, not complete evaluation boards or preprogrammed audio appliances. The full suffix matters for speed, temperature, package/ball map and manufacturer ordering status; compare the exact datasheet, errata and ordering guide before substitution. A generic “voltage regulator” category on an imported listing is inconsistent with the processor part number and is not a functional specification.
  • TMS320LF2407APGEA: described as a 16-bit fixed-point DSP in a QFP-144 package with 1-, 2-, 5- and 10-piece purchase options. Those are quantities of the selected part, not a multi-model assortment. Its fixed-point architecture and board requirements differ substantially from the C6748 family; do not infer shared firmware or pin compatibility.
  • TMS320VC5509AZHH: a BGA-179 DSP IC listing. Validate clocking, memory, power rails, boot mode, peripheral interfaces and package drawing for this particular orderable code, rather than transferring figures from another TMS320 family.
  • ADAU1701 versus ADM1069: one product combines an ADAU1701JSTZ QFP-48 audio DSP selection with an ADM1069ASTZ QFP-32 monitoring-circuit selection. These are alternatives in a model selector, not two chips shipped together and not functionally interchangeable. Select ADAU1701 for the audio DSP IC; ADM1069 is a different supervisory device.
  • TMS34010FNL-50: listings use “DSP,” “ARM” and “microprocessor” loosely for a graphics-oriented processor. Do not infer Arm architecture or interchangeability with a TMS320 audio DSP from those words. Check the exact silicon documentation before choosing it for a design.

Audio DSP boards and modules

ADAU1701 2-in/4-out preamp/crossover boards and ADAU1401/ADAU1701 feedback-suppression boards are populated modules, not loose ICs. The ADAU1452-based BDSP2.4U is another 2-in/4-out tuning-board listing, while a TAS5805 Bluetooth 2.0 amplifier board combines signal processing and speaker amplification; its “with touch buttons” versus “board” variants may differ in included controls. ShennDare's CQ190, CQ260 and CQ380 are separately selectable module models under one 96kHz/2-in/4-out headline: do not attribute the CQ380's stated FIR features or I/O specification to every model without checking its own manual. For embedded audio integration, compare analog versus I2S inputs, ADC/DAC population, output level, codec, control interface, firmware/EEPROM, supply rails and development software on the exact board. SigmaStudio support stated for an ADAU board is not a guarantee that every module here uses the same toolchain or project file.

Professional loudspeaker management and effects

Listings include 2-in/4-out crossover/EQ processors, 4-in/8-out stage-management units, a DSP-408 4-in/8-out processor, miniDSP 2x4 HD, Sinbosen AP48, feedback suppressors with FBX220 (2-in/2-out) and FBX440 (4-in/4-out) selections, and a DBX260-style speaker-management listing. FUHAM X5 options distinguish XLR-to-RCA and XLR-to-XLR configurations at 220V; MIC4II options distinguish 110V US and 220V EU. These devices serve different microphone, line-level, crossover and loudspeaker tasks. Check connector format, balanced/unbalanced signal level, channel routing, EQ/filter type, latency, preset control and mains rating for the chosen model. A stage amplifier advertised as ShennDare “4×1000W” also offers multiple 2- and 4-channel power options from 350W to 1800W at an advertised 8Ω; the selected variant, not the headline, determines the nominal configuration. Published wattage is not comparable without load, supply, bandwidth, distortion and continuous-duty test conditions.

Vehicle DSP and amplifier listings

Car-audio listings include PUZU PZ-C7, PZ-D8 and PZ-X4800S, SENNUOPU multi-channel models and several Android-head-unit 4×50W/4×60W/4×80W products. A PUZU PZ-C7 Toyota non-JBL listing offers “For 2005-2017” and “For 2018-2025” selections; its description specifically says the GR86 uses the older harness option and warns that the PZ-C7 is not for Toyota JBL audio systems. A Suzuki 2005-2019 PZ-C7 is a separate listing. The PUZU PZ-D8 has vehicle-brand selections, and PZ-X4800S includes multiple numbered harness choices for Honda, Hyundai/Kia, Volkswagen and Toyota. None of these labels proves fit for every model year or factory audio configuration: check the head-unit connector, factory amp, trim, year and wiring schematic. Ship-from choices such as China Mainland, Mexico, Brazil or Russia indicate fulfillment selection, not DSP performance. A car DSP may have more processing channels than built-in powered outputs; line outputs require appropriate downstream amplification.

Other equipment in this collection

FG-100 and FG-200 listings describe a DDS function-signal generator/frequency counter, with an FG-200-and-antenna variant. This is a test signal source, not a DSP processor or loudspeaker amplifier. Keep it in its own use case when comparing products. Reverb and feedback-suppression equipment likewise may employ digital processing without being a general-purpose semiconductor for PCB assembly.

Procurement and design checklist

  1. Define the deliverable: bare chip, populated board, rackmount processor, integrated power amplifier, car harness package, microphone effect or test instrument. One product title may name a board and its chip, but that does not make the board a loose-component order.
  2. Read every selected option: model, pack quantity, mains voltage, connector configuration, amplifier channel/wattage variant, vehicle harness and shipping origin are distinct attributes. Do not combine specifications from mutually exclusive options into a single promised kit.
  3. Map signal flow: distinguish physical input count, DSP processing paths, low-level line outputs and powered speaker channels. Compare analog/digital input types, output level, balanced connections, speaker impedance and required external amplification with your installation.
  4. Validate programming and tuning: for ICs confirm boot, memory, toolchain and board support; for audio appliances confirm current desktop/mobile app, firmware, crossover/EQ controls and preset handling. A DSP IC requires a designed circuit and firmware; a finished audio processor has its own operating interface.
  5. Qualify specifications and source: imported descriptions can contain conflicting category labels, broad certification claims, “original” language, power figures and seller-specific shipping/warranty terms. Use manufacturer documentation and verifiable part markings for critical applications; do not treat those claims as collection-wide guarantees.

Frequently asked questions

Is TMS320C6748 the same as a car DSP amplifier? No. The former listings identify bare BGA processor ICs; the latter are assembled automotive audio devices with application-specific inputs and, in some cases, power-amplifier stages.

Does the ADAU1701/ADM1069 listing include both chips? No combined kit is established. The variant selector names different devices; choose the exact one needed and verify its package.

Are CQ190, CQ260 and CQ380 identical except for a label? Do not assume so. They are distinct selectable module models; compare the chosen module's inputs, outputs, firmware and features.

Can a 4-in/8-out processor drive eight passive speakers directly? Not unless its selected model explicitly has eight rated amplified outputs. DSP outputs may be line level and need external amplifiers.

Will the Toyota PZ-C7 work with a JBL factory system? The listing explicitly warns against Toyota JBL systems. Verify your exact vehicle and head unit before purchasing any harness-specific solution.

Is “4×1000W” the power of every stage amplifier option? No. The product offers different two- and four-channel wattage variants; evaluate the selected option's rated output under its stated test conditions.

Is FG-200 a digital signal processor IC? No. It is listed as a waveform generator/test instrument, with a separate antenna-inclusive purchase option.

This guide classifies a mixed collection and outlines checks for selection; it does not assert chip authenticity, certification, vehicle fit, electrical compatibility or guaranteed performance. For design-in and installation, consult the exact model's manufacturer datasheet, manual and revision information.
