Digital Logic ICs, Level Shifters and Logic Analyzers
Digital logic components, signal-interface boards and test instruments
This broad collection brings together logic-gate ICs, flip-flops and counters, 4000-series assortments, logic-level translation modules, USB logic analyzers, probes and other products whose titles use the word “logic.” It also contains phone logic-board repair parts, connectors and cables, plus unrelated cross-listed components. These are different purchasing and engineering categories. An eight-channel analyzer captures digital activity; an eight-channel level shifter interfaces voltage domains; an eight-bit logic register stores or shifts bits. None is automatically a substitute for another. Use the product's exact selected variant and full specification for the actual item, quantity and interface.
Choose the function first, then the part number
Combinational logic computes outputs from present inputs. The listings include NAND, NOR, AND, OR, XOR, XNOR and inverter gates across CD40xx, 74HC, 74HCT, 74LVC, 74LS and related families. A CD4001 is a quad two-input NOR, a 74HC00 is a quad two-input NAND, and a 74HC04 is a hex inverter; similarity of package or the word “logic” does not make their pin functions interchangeable. Count gates per package separately from inputs per gate. Schmitt-trigger options such as 74HC14 or CD40106 have hysteretic inputs, which are different from the ordinary thresholds of a standard inverter. A title mentioning “DIP-14 5V logic level converter” for a 74HC00 does not turn the NAND IC into a general-purpose level-translation module; verify the underlying chip and orderable package.
Sequential logic has state and timing requirements. CD4013/HEF4013 and 74HC74-type parts are D flip-flop selections; SN74HC273 and CD74HCT534-type offerings represent wider register/flip-flop functions with their own controls. CD4017 counters, CD4520 dividers, SN74HC595 output shift registers and SN74HC164 shift registers serve different roles. A serial-output input register, a parallel-output shift register and a counter should not be merged into one generic “logic chip.” For clocked circuits, use the exact manufacturer's datasheet for clock edge, asynchronous controls, setup/hold time, propagation delay and output drive. Do not assume one suffix, family or package matches another.
Assortments and multi-model listings also occur here. A 12-type/60-piece CD40xx assortment, a 30-type CD40xx kit, and other HEF/HCF/CD 4000-series listings describe multiple types rather than a 60-piece pack of every named IC. Conversely, a Color or Model Number menu can select one model from a long headline, sometimes with a separate lot quantity. Check the packing breakdown, chosen chip, DIP versus surface-mount format and piece count. A socket-only option is not a chip assortment merely because it appears on the same product page. Seller claims of “original,” “genuine” or tested performance are not independent authentication by this collection description.
Logic families and electrical compatibility
HC, HCT, LVC, AHC, LS and 4000-series CMOS are distinct families with different recommended supply ranges, VIH/VIL thresholds, output characteristics and timing. Do not infer a universal 3.3 V-to-5 V connection from “CMOS” or from a matching gate number. Determine the controller's actual VOH/VOL, the receiving input's VIH/VIL and the relevant supply configuration at the intended temperature and load. Check absolute maximum separately from recommended operating conditions. For uncommitted inputs, follow the selected device's specified biasing guidance rather than leaving CMOS pins floating. DIP-14, DIP-16, SOP/SOIC, TSSOP, SOT and QFN descriptions refer to different footprints; inspect the full manufacturer order code and land pattern before replacing a board part.
Level shifting and voltage-domain interfaces
This collection includes TXS0108E-based eight-channel module listings, TXB0108 references, SN74LVC2T45 translators and two-, four- or eight-channel “3.3V/5V” conversion boards. TXS0108E and TXB0108 are not interchangeable simply because both are eight-bit bidirectional translators; bus capacitance, pull-ups, drive method, direction handling and supported signal topology can differ. Four-channel MOSFET-style boards commonly target certain open-drain-style buses, but a product title calling one “high speed” does not establish suitability for every SPI, UART, clock or push-pull connection. An I²C-oriented module should not be assumed to support arbitrary edge rates or current. Check voltage rails, reference sides, pin labels, direction-control requirements where applicable, channel count, installed headers and actual order quantity. A 1-/5-/10-piece variant changes the number of boards, not the channel count of one board.
Logic analyzers: sampling is not analog bandwidth
Many listings are USB instruments or analyzer development boards: 8-channel 24 MHz-class tools, 16-channel instruments, 24- and 32-channel options, DSLogic U2/U3 variants, Kingst LA1010/LA2016/LA5016/LA5032, ALIENTEK DL16, FNIRSI DLA-32 Plus, LOTO multifunction units and CY7C68013A/EZ-USB FX2LP core boards. They do not share a single performance specification. A headline may state a maximum sample rate for one operating mode while another variant offers a different channel count or rate. Determine simultaneously usable channels, sample rate at that channel count, acquisition depth, input thresholds, supported signal voltage, trigger capability, streaming behavior and probe accessories from the exact model documentation. A quoted sampling rate in MS/s or GS/s is not itself analog input bandwidth in MHz, and an oscilloscope's two analog channels should not be counted as two digital logic-analyzer channels without checking its design.
For UART, I²C and SPI decoding, verify that the selected device and software support the desired protocol, sampling margin and operating system. Some listings also advertise CAN, PWM or RS232 decoding; decoding a captured digital signal does not mean a bare TTL-level analyzer input can be wired directly to a differential CAN bus, RS232 voltage levels or an unsafe high-voltage node. Appropriate electrical interfaces and input protection must be chosen to suit the measured system. A CY7C68013A USB development/core board may be used in analyzer projects but should not be assumed to include finished software, enclosures, certified probes or identical functionality to a commercial instrument. Likewise phrases such as “compatible with Saleae,” “5x Saleae bandwidth” and “official version” in seller titles are not a verified affiliation, software entitlement or measured benchmark for every listed unit.
Logic probes, pulsers and oscilloscope logic-probe accessories are separate tools. A Rigol PLA2216 probe is an accessory for a specified oscilloscope series, not a stand-alone USB analyzer. Mixed oscilloscope/signal-generator/analyzer units should be evaluated by mode and selected model, including whether a stated specification applies to the scope, digital capture or generator. Check included leads, connectors, USB interface and software before buying a bench instrument or replacement accessory.
“Logic board” means device repair hardware here
Phone motherboard and screen-repair listings use logic board to mean the device's main PCB, not a 74-series gate. Existing options include LCD or touch FPC connectors selected by specific iPhone or Xiaomi/Redmi model, damaged training motherboards, board test fixtures, CNC-cut repair boards and working-board claims. Some titles mention Face ID, storage, SIM region, iCloud status or OS updates. Those are seller-specific attributes that must be verified for the selected exact phone model, board revision and condition; the presence of a related listing in this collection does not establish activation status, lawful ownership, firmware support, working functionality or universal interchangeability. A damaged “without NAND” practice board is not a ready-to-install replacement mainboard. Replacement FPC connectors and 80-pin TV logic-board FFC cables also require exact pitch, orientation, contact side, length, pin count and mating footprint checks; a model family name alone is not sufficient.
There are also barcode-scanner cable listings referring to Datalogic or Metrologic equipment. “Datalogic” and “Metrologic” in those titles identify scanner compatibility claims, not digital logic chips. Choose the scanner model and USB/RS232/PS2 cable variant, connector wiring, supply option and length from the individual listing. A selected power adapter is not the same as a selected data cable. These products remain in the collection as catalog items, but their presence does not broaden the electrical claims of the logic ICs or analyzers.
Other nearby electronics are separate categories
Logic-level MOSFET listings such as FQD12N20L, IRFB3006 and SUD40N06-25L describe a gate-drive characteristic of a transistor, not a digital Boolean gate or proof that a microcontroller can directly switch any load. Verify RDS(on) at the actual gate voltage, gate charge, thermal limits and safe operating conditions for the exact manufacturer part. Optocouplers, programmable devices, flash programmers, adapters, counter/divider instruments and test equipment likewise have their own functions. A CH341A programmer with SOP8 clip is not a logic analyzer simply because a listing mentions programmable logic. Do not transfer current, voltage, sampling or compatibility claims across these product classes.
Technical purchase checklist
- Identify the object: loose IC, breakout module, mixed chip assortment, USB instrument, oscilloscope accessory, repair connector, practice mainboard or cable. A title can mention multiple alternatives; the selected variant is decisive.
- For an IC: match the full part number, logic function/truth table, family, VCC and input/output thresholds, timing, drive limits, package and pinout against its own datasheet. Confirm pieces per lot.
- For a translator: match both supply rails, signal direction and topology, external pull-ups/drive, channel count and board headers. Do not promise universal bidirectionality or speed from “3.3V/5V” alone.
- For an analyzer: match the selected model's concurrent channel/rate mode, memory depth, input protection, thresholds, protocols, software and included accessories. Keep digital sampling separate from oscilloscope analog bandwidth.
- For repair hardware: match exact host-device generation, board revision, FPC geometry, cable orientation and selected condition. Repair listings are not evidence of genuine manufacturer affiliation or guaranteed operation.
Frequently asked questions
Is every item here a digital logic IC?
No. The actual listings cover ICs, translator boards, instruments, phone logic-board parts, accessories and cables. Choose the appropriate group by the complete product and selected option.
Are 8-channel level shifters and 8-channel logic analyzers equivalent?
No. A shifter bridges signal voltage domains; an analyzer captures and interprets digital waveforms. Their channel numbers count different capabilities.
Does a 24 MHz analyzer decode a 24 MHz clock reliably?
A quoted maximum sampling rate alone is insufficient to establish adequate timing resolution, signal integrity or decode margin. Check the exact instrument's simultaneous-channel rate and plan an appropriate sampling margin for the signal being measured.
Can I use a 74HCT part wherever a 74HC part fits?
Not without checking input thresholds, supply, timing, output drive and package for both complete order codes. Similar numbering identifies a logic function, not guaranteed system compatibility.
Does “logic board for iPhone” refer to a generic development board?
No. These are phone motherboard repair or test items. Check model, board condition and the specific selected variant; a damaged practice board and a claimed functional board serve very different purposes.
