The ADUM1201 is a dual-channel digital isolator based on iCoupler technology, which uses a chip-sized transformer for electromagnetic isolation, replacing the LED and photodiode structure in the traditional photocoupler. Due to the elimination of the photoelectric conversion process, iCoupler technology achieves higher efficiency, lower power consumption, higher integration and better anti-interference performance.
The ADUM1201 provides two isolated channels in opposite directions (one input and one output), which is suitable for two-way communication isolation occasions such as RS-232. The two ends of the isolation are powered separately (2.7V ~ 5.5V) and have independent ground wires (GND1, GND2), which cannot be shared, otherwise the isolation effect cannot be realized.
Note: The ADUM1201 requires that both ends of the power supply must be powered on at the same time, otherwise the chip will not work normally.
