Add Light Sensing Control to Your Projects. 5516 Photoresistor Sensor Module with Digital Output for Arduino & ESP32.
Key Features & Benefits
Sense Ambient Light Changes: Utilizes a 5516 photoresistor to detect changes in ambient light levels.
Digital Switch Output: The built-in LM393 comparator provides a digital signal (HIGH/LOW), with a drive capability of >15mA, making it easy for microcontrollers to read.
Adjustable Trigger Threshold: The onboard potentiometer allows flexible adjustment of the light trigger point to suit different application needs.
Plug & Play Design: Features VCC, GND, and DO interfaces. Compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic levels, connectable to Arduino, ESP32, and similar boards.
For Various DIY Scenarios: Provides a light-control switch solution for DIY projects like smart lighting and ambient light response.
Product Description
This 5516 light sensor module converts ambient light changes into a digital on/off signal. Through simple wiring and threshold adjustment, it can add light-sensing functionality to your Arduino or ESP32 projects, suitable for DIY applications that require automatic triggering based on light or dark conditions.
🚨 Important Notes / How to Use (Proactively Prevent Negative Reviews)
❌【Output Type Clarification】This is a Digital Switch Module:
This module outputs a digital switch signal (HIGH/LOW).
It does NOT output a continuously varying analog voltage, and therefore cannot measure precise light intensity (Lux). If you need to measure light levels, please select an analog output light sensor.
✅【Correct Usage Steps】
Wiring: Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V positive, GND to ground, DO to a digital input pin on your board.
Adjustment: After powering on, use a small screwdriver to turn the blue potentiometer under your target lighting to set the trigger point.
Reading: Read the state of the connected digital pin in your code to determine the light condition.
⚠️【Common Misconceptions】
Do not confuse it with analog light intensity sensors or PIR motion sensors. They have different functions and output signals.
The module detects overall ambient light level changes and may not respond accurately to rapidly flickering light sources.
🔧【Required Basics】
You need an Arduino, ESP32, or similar development board and basic wiring and programming skills. This module is an electronic component, not a standalone ready-to-use product.
