🚨 Critical Notes Before Purchase & Usage Guide

❌ 【Product Clarification】: This is an I2C module, NOT a standalone clock display!
It requires a microcontroller (like Arduino) and programming to read/set the time. The module itself has no display and cannot show the time independently.

⚠️ 【Most Common Misconceptions & Misuse】

Battery NOT Included! A CR2032 coin cell is NOT included. It is a REQUIRED accessory for battery-backed timekeeping. You must purchase it separately.
Initial Time Setting is MANDATORY! The module ships with no time set. You MUST run a "set time" sketch from your microcontroller upon first power-up for the clock to start. Otherwise, read data will be meaningless.
I2C Address Conflict: The DS3231 has a fixed I2C address of 0x68. If you have another device at address 0x68 on the same I2C bus, a conflict will occur, preventing communication.
Battery Polarity Warning: When installing the battery, ensure the CR2032 positive (+) side faces UP (towards the printed side). Reverse installation won't damage the module but will disable battery backup.
