Description

The LSM9DS1 is a multifunctional motion-sensing system-on-chip. It is equipped with 3-axis acceleration. Dynamometer, 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis magnetometer - 9 degrees of freedom (9DOF) in a single IC! The LSM9DS1 is equipped with a digital interface, but even so it is very flexible: it supports I2C and SPI, so it is difficult to find an unavailable microcontroller. This IMU chip is really cool. We have placed it on the quarter-sized splitter board that you are currently viewing!

The LSM9DS1 is one of the few ics that can measure the three key characteristics of motion (angular velocity, acceleration and heading) in a single IC. By measuring these three attributes, you can acquire a great deal of knowledge about the movement and direction of the object. The LSM9DS1 measures each of these motion characteristics in three dimensions. This means it will generate nine numbers

According to: acceleration expressed as x/y/z, angular rotation expressed as x/y/z, and magnetic force expressed as x/y/z. The LSM9DS1 Breakout has tags indicating the axes of the accelerometer and gyroscope, and these tags share a right-handed rule relationship with each other.

Each sensor in LSM9DS1 supports a wide range: the scale of the accelerometer can be set to ± 24, 8 or 16g, the gyroscope supports ± 245, 500 and 2000° / S, and the magnetometer has a scale range of ± 4, 8, 12 or 16 gauss.

Instructions for Use

In I2C mode, the I2C device address of the module is determined by the SDO pin

When the SDO_AG pin is at a low level, the I2C device address of the module accelerometer and gyroscope is 1101010x (x is the read/write control bit).

When the SDO_ AG pin is at a high level, the I2C device address of the module accelerometer and gyroscope is 1101011x (x is the read/write control bit).

When the SDO__M and SDO__AG pins are at low levels, the I2C device address of the module magnetometer is 0011100x (x is the read/write control bit).

When the SDO_M pin is at a high level and the SDO_AG pin is at a low level, the I2C device address of the module magnetometer is 0011110x(x is the read/write control bit).
