Both chargers are pure charging devices. They do NOT have:

• ❌ Battery capacity testing (discharge to measure capacity)

• ❌ Internal resistance testing

• ❌ Real‑time temperature monitoring / temperature testing

All displayed values (voltage, accumulated capacity, time, current) are for reference during charging only. For precise measurements, use professional instruments.

✅ Compatible Battery Types (Same for Both Models)

❗ Not compatible with 1.5V primary or rechargeable lithium batteries (e.g., 1.5V AA Li‑ion). Do not insert them.

🔋 Physically Compatible Battery Sizes (Both Models)

• Li‑ion series: 26650, 21700 (only flat‑top unprotected – button‑top or PCB‑protected cells cannot fit), 20700, 18650, 18490, 18350, 17670, 17500, 16340 (RCR123), 14500, 10440

• Ni‑MH / Ni‑Cd: AA, AAA, SC, C

For 21700, any cell with a button top or protection circuit exceeds the slot limits and cannot be inserted. Use standard flat‑top cells only.

📟 LCD Display – What You See (Both Models)

Each slot independently shows:

• Charge progress – continuous real‑time percentage from 0% to 100% (flashing “%” icon indicates charging in progress)

• Battery type (1.2V Ni‑MH / 3.7V Li‑ion / 3.2V LiFePO₄ / 3.80V IMR)

• Real‑time voltage (V)

• Accumulated charged capacity (mAh – total charge put in, not a discharge‑tested capacity)

• Elapsed charging time (flashing “:” indicates timing in progress)

• Current charge current (0.5A / 1A / 2A)

Completion indication (both models): shows “100%” and “End” in lower‑right corner.

With no battery inserted, the screen shows “null” and turns off after a short idle period (PD4: 30s / PD2: 10s).

🎮 Operation – Common Rules

• Each slot has its own Mode button (4 for PD4, 2 for PD2).

• After inserting a battery, the screen flashes the detected type:

  • For 3.7V Li‑ion or 1.2V Ni‑MH → automatically recognised, charging starts after 5 seconds.

  • For 3.2V (LiFePO₄) or 3.80V IMR → short‑press the Mode button within 5 seconds to select the correct voltage, then it locks and starts after 5 seconds.

• During charging, the battery type cannot be changed (neither short‑press nor long‑press works). To change type, you must disconnect power and restart.

• Backlight can be turned on briefly by a short‑press during charging (both models).

⚡ Charging Current – Model‑Specific Details

For Lii‑PD4 (4‑slot)

• Current distribution is intelligent and automatic – you cannot manually set currents.

• Slots 1–3: automatically assign 500mA or 1000mA.

• Slot #4: supports up to 2000mA (2A) – only when used alone (single battery in slot #4). If other slots are occupied, slot #4 drops to 1000mA or 500mA to keep total load balanced.

For Lii‑PD2 (2‑slot)

• Each slot lets you manually select 0.5A / 1.0A / 2.0A by long‑pressing the Mode button (default is 0.5A on power‑up).

• 2000mA (2A) is designated for Slot #2 only – and only when used alone.

• Total output of both slots cannot exceed 2.0A.

  • Example: If you set Slot #2 to 2.0A and then insert a battery into Slot #1, the charger automatically reduces Slot #2 from 2.0A down to 1.0A – both slots then charge at 1.0A each.

• For Ni‑MH / Ni‑Cd batteries, the current is fixed at 500mA per slot (1.0A / 2.0A options are for lithium‑based cells only).

🌟 Special Feature – Exclusive to Lii‑PD2

Polarity‑independent charging – you can place the battery into the slot in either orientation (positive up or down). The charger automatically detects and charges correctly. (This does not apply to PD4.)

🛡️ Safety Protections (Both Models)

• Over‑charge protection (constant‑current / constant‑voltage, cut‑off <100mA)

• Over‑discharge protection

• Short‑circuit protection

• Reverse‑polarity protection (PD2 also tolerates any orientation)

• Smart detection of faulty batteries

• 0V battery activation (1.65V–2.20V range: no full charge, only a tiny activation current)

🔌 Input Power (Identical for Both)

• Built‑in AC power supply – input: 100‑240V 50/60Hz.

• AC cable included – just plug directly into the mains. (DC 12V 1A adapter is optional, not required.)

📌 Usage Tips (Both Models)

• Charger may become warm – place in a well‑ventilated area.

• After charging completes, unplug the AC cable and remove batteries.

• For indoor use only; avoid moisture.

🔎 Which Model Should You Choose?

Both models share the same core charging engine, safety features, battery compatibility, IMR voltage (3.80V), and AC input. Choose PD4 if you need more slots and automatic current management; choose PD2 if you prefer manual current control and the convenience of polarity‑free insertion.
