The PICkit 3 Programmer/Debugger is a simple low-cost online debugger controlled by a PC running MPLAB IDE(V8.20 or later) software on the Windows® platform.

PICkit3 can program and debug the FLASH microcontroller chip of Microchip pic10/12/16/18/24/32, dsPIC30/dsPIC33 and so on. And PICkit3 CAN program the Microchip KEELOQ HCS series chip, MCP250xx CAN series chip and EEPROM memory chip.

PICkit3 has more simulation stability than PICkit2, support more models, fast and other advantages, can stably support PIC16 PIC18 PIC24 DSPIC and other MCU simulation and download.

The PIC ICSP interface has only one row of 6PIN connections, so when PICkit3 is connected to the PIC target board, please pay attention to the left and right directions of the connection. Do not insert the PICkit3 downloader in order to avoid burning it.

Status of PICkit3's LED indicator light

Indicators have the following meanings:

Power:

Green, lit when powering on or connecting to target board.

Active:

Blue, lit when PICkit 3 has established communication with the PC or sent/received commands.

Status:

Green, lit when the debugger is working properly (standby).

Yellow, light up when busy.

Red, lit when the debugger fails.
