1). Product Introduction

This USRP B210 improved edition software-defined radio (SDR) development board is a next-generation platform comprehensively optimized and upgraded from the original version. The core device has been upgraded from the Xilinx Spartan-6 series to the more powerful Kintex-7 series (XC7K325T), supporting development in the Vivado environment while maintaining full software compatibility with the original B210 ecosystem.

The RF front-end continues to leverage the proven AD9361BBCZ transceiver solution with a frequency-division duplex architecture, and the RF chain has been optimized through simulation to ensure excellent RF performance. The data interface has been upgraded to USB 3.0 Type-C, delivering a maximum real-time transmission bandwidth of up to 56 MHz to meet high-speed signal acquisition and processing demands. An onboard GPS module can replace external PPS input, while PPS and 10 MHz reference clock input interfaces (MMCX) are retained for system synchronization and expansion. The overall board size has been reduced to 70 × 97 × 11.5 mm for enhanced compactness and portability.

Important Usage Notes (Differences from Original Version):

  1. Software Configuration: Before use, you must replace the usrp_b210_fpga.bin file on your computer to accommodate the new hardware.

  2. GPSDO Compatibility: This board no longer supports external GPSDO modules (the GPSDO slot has been removed).

  3. PPS Priority: The onboard GPS module's PPS signal takes priority over the external PPS input. When the GPS module has successfully acquired satellite signals, the external PPS input will be automatically disabled.
