Arduino-Compatible Boards, MCU Modules & Accessories

Arduino-compatible boards, interfaces and project modules

This collection brings together controller boards and components commonly used with Arduino-style development workflows, not a uniform selection of Arduino microcontrollers. Current listings include MCU boards, TB6612FNG and DRV8833 motor-driver choices (and some L298N variants), MAX485 or other TTL-to-RS-485 adapters, RC522/MFRC522 RFID reader options, sensors, displays and assorted expansion modules. Some products are only a peripheral, a card or key fob, a bare IC, or a pack of modules. “For Arduino” is an application cue, not proof that a board, code library, shield footprint or official Arduino product is included.

Find the right component for your build

  • Microcontroller or development board: Check the fitted MCU, clock and memory, USB-to-serial interface, programming method, header spacing, voltage domain and available pins. A board that can be programmed with an Arduino-compatible workflow may use a different processor and pin map from the board you already own.
  • TB6612FNG / DRV8833 / L298N motor driver: These are separate driver designs, sometimes sold as alternative variants within one listing. Match the actual selected board to motor supply voltage, continuous and startup/stall current, number of channels, PWM/control behavior, logic input thresholds, thermal limits and connector placement. A seller's “better than L298N” or “direct replacement” claim is not a pin-for-pin or current-rating guarantee. Size the driver against the motor and load, not just its nominal running current.
  • MAX485 and TTL-to-RS-485 modules: A UART-to-RS-485 transceiver board does not become a microcontroller or USB adapter. Confirm host-side logic voltage, whether transmit/receive direction uses a DE/RE control signal or onboard automatic control, bus-side terminal layout, half-duplex configuration and grounding/termination requirements for your existing system. The electrical ratings of one listing do not apply to all MAX485-labeled boards.
  • RC522 / MFRC522 RFID choices: Identify whether the selected option is the reader PCB, a card, a key fob or a set. Match its supply and logic voltage, SPI wiring/pinout, antenna and tag format to the host board and software; a reader does not imply that a compatible card is included.
  • Sensors and displays: Compare I²C, SPI, UART, analog or digital output as appropriate, connector pin assignment, power budget, library/driver availability and whether the module is assembled. A header that looks similar does not establish electrical compatibility.

Variant and specification checklist

Read the selected variant before ordering: “Color” may mean DRV8833 versus TB6612FNG, soldered versus unsoldered headers, a reader versus an RFID card, or a one-, five- or ten-piece pack. “Model Number” can indicate quantity rather than a different model. A headline naming several devices is normally a menu of alternatives, not a mixed bundle. Confirm product type, exact model, included contents, supply and signal levels, pinout, dimensions, software support and the per-option quantity on the product listing. When a seller description gives conflicting ratings or broad compatibility claims, use the exact device documentation and board schematic rather than extending those claims to the whole collection.

Frequently asked questions

Is everything here an Arduino microcontroller board? No. Motor drivers, serial interfaces, readers and accessories generally need a separate controller, while some variants may be only a chip, card or key fob.

Can I replace a TB6612FNG module with DRV8833 or L298N without redesign? Do not assume so. Compare the chosen module's pinout, supply and logic levels, continuous/stall current margin, control signals and mounting before substituting.

Why does an RS-485 module need a UART-capable host? The module translates electrical signaling; your controller still provides serial data and, for manual-direction modules, transmit/receive control. Confirm the exact module's control arrangement.

Does an RC522 option include tags? Only if the chosen variant explicitly lists the reader and compatible card/key contents. A product title mentioning them together does not establish a bundle.

Does “Arduino-compatible” mean official Arduino hardware or plug-and-play support? No. Verify the exact board, voltage, libraries, connector and firmware requirements; seller wording does not establish manufacturer affiliation or universal compatibility.
